Syracuse basketball program under investigation by the NCAA
CBS reports Sryacuse basketball program is under investigation.
More criminals being brought into the ACC by Swofford. Between Miami, UNC and now this we have no right to look down on the SEC. At this point it seems like the question is who is not cheating rather than who is. College sports is a big money business so it is not shocking that cheating appears to be rampant.
I wonder if Syracuse will use the precedent set by the UNC “investigation” to “investigate” and “punish” themselves (please bear with me on the over use of the quotes but I wanted to emphasize my point). I imagine this will hasten the retirement of Boheim so they can clean house.
That source said the school has received a letter of preliminary inquiry from the NCAA.
The ongoing investigation has apparently grown larger in scope. When asked to characterize how wide-ranging the probe might be, a source with knowledge of the case told CBSSports.com: “Throw a dart at the [NCAA] Manual [and you would hit a violation by Syracuse].”
The specific nature of the alleged violations was not disclosed by the source but the transgressions were described as both major and wide-ranging in nature.

that glass slipper fits uncinderella too, but the NCAA prince refuses to slip it on her foot
Somebody has to be punished for all that cheating in Orange County, might as well pin on the Orange.
Not to worry. This is Syracuse BASKETBALL they’re talking about, not football.
The conference expansion was all about football, wasn’t it? Who cares about basketball anyhow?
Why is this post tagged Mark Gottfried? Pretty sure he has nothing to do with this (so I hope).
“Cuse has been dirty for years. Private school tucked away in the upstate. It will be interesting what comes out. Their star point guard incident this year sheds a little light on how things are handled up there.
Some Div II school will have to pay harshly for this.
I’ve always thought the SEC “thumb” was more jealousy than realism anyway.
No surprise here…Move along, it will be Friday soon!
They will fit in well with the cheaters over at the hill.
Someone needs to keep a keen eye on the UNX group. They won’t let ‘cuse outdo them in this cheating thing!
On the contrary VirginiaWolf, UNC fans will attempt to divert attention from their fiasco to the Orangemen. Just wait for it….wait for it…..
Has Boeheims announced that it’s just an academic program yet?
Listened to Gold & Ovies today to hear some NCAA tourney talk and an earful interview of Swofford instead. First time I’ve actually heard the man in length speak. Does anyone know if he’s learning impaired? He made every Lee Fowler interview that I’ve listened to seem enlightening. Didn’t answer any of the questions asked-weirdest is that he didn’t try to be diplomatic about it-was more like he had no clue.
The ACC office is the Flight Control in Airplane and Swoff is Lloyd Bridges.

Worked for his alma mater just fine. No need to abandon an approach that’s working.

I am aware that the Swoff was a Morehead Scholar, but this sounds like most u*nx revenue-sport athlete ‘graduates’…
While kicking back and watching the last 26.4 seconds of the final game of the ACCT, it occurred to me that I was watching the championship of the cheats. I was kind of hoping that there would be another challenge or two after the actual basketball game like a starting five spelling bee, a pick-up that parking ticket contest (parking tickets falling on the court like confetti), and a tutor paper writing race (plagerism allowed of course). The games could have continued until Friday with the winner sanctioning the other team. Alas, I was disappointed.
