Miami 44, State 37
State Miami beat State 44-37 in a game that will long live in infamy in the Hall of Fame of all-time worst performances.
Short version: Despite outgaining Miami 664-651, State’s defense couldn’t stop the big play — Amerson was responsible for all six Miami TDs — and State’s offense gave the ball away six times, including a fumble by Palmer on the Miami one yard line. The crucial turnover was Glennon’s pick with 48 seconds left that set up the subsequent 62-yard TD game-winning TD pass with only 19 seconds left.
More to come…maybe.
Comment if you want.

Not enough pressure when the qb has enough time to continually chunk it 80 yrds
Not sure why you resorted to the strikethrough. No question we beat ourselves today.
Not Amerson’s best game, but you can’t lay all 6 td’s at his feet.
^ Why? Because he might trip over them and not be able to cover his man?
It is ironic that almost every big play for our opponent has our “All-American” trailing behind.
Unless we have a VERY strong finish to the year, O’Brien is gone. Beating UNC won’t do it this year.
Broke my laptop slamming it shut after the bed shiteing.
Amerson was personally responsible for 39 points… 5 TD’s where he got burned, PLUS the offsides penalty that turned a FG into a touchdown.
300 yards & 5 TD’s against him personally.
Yes, you CAN lay this one at his feet. It looked like point shaving, for God’s sakes.
With ZERO defensive line pressure on the QB (like against TN), an All World secondary will not hold up and defend. The Pack cannot pressure these good QB’s.
Amerson did not lose this game all by himself.
Lotof blame and Kudos to go around. Free safety had a bad game also. On the road at Miami and had a chance to win. Congrats to team even though we came up short. Despite the errors they never gave up, played the whole game, and came close to winning. We keep improving week to week, we can go places. I think we cut out the mental errors we got a shot at upsetting FSU at home! We got called for lots of defensive offsides but there was a lot of movement on the offensive line, was I the only noticing a Miami lineman kept moving his arm right before the snap, no call on him the entire game?
“Good” QBs? We seem to make every QB have an all world performance.
Yes, you can lay this on Amerson. Unacceptable. And unacceptable on TOB’s part not to bench his behind. Where is the discipline you keep hearing about with TOB’s teams? Nowhere to be found.
That’s as bad of a performance as I have ever seen from a Wolfpack team. Totally unprepared and outclassed by Thug U. Unacceptable.
Agree…enough blame for everyone…can’t believe how u-disciplined we looked and how many turnovers we gave away…smh
It is time for a change. I don’t even want to wait till the end of the year.
First time I’ve said this and hopefully the last. Time for Tom to go. I want a Gott-like coach who will sieze the opportunity to coach where the fans are crazy about the team and he knows how to recruit champions. Done.
Unfortunately Master, this is the ACC – not the SEC. We can expect Gott-like coaches to come here for BB. I am afraid the Urban Meyers and Nick Sabons are not going to give us the time of day for FB – have they ever? TOB may be as good as it gets for us. Unless you want to go back to the Amato, Reed , Kiffin days which I lived through – now that was painful.
No doubt, Amerson stunk it up. But where was the coaching? Where was the in-game adjustments to shut down these 50+ yard plays?
Where was the coaching that says, “Okay, so the QB is playing games with the snap count. Get over it. When the ball moves, you move!”
Late in the game, two time outs, and a very effective ground game, why do the obvious and go exclusively to the pass? Pass when you have to, Bible!!!!!!!!
I HATE playing these lower division schools. We get nothing out of it and come away thinking we are better than we are.
Well folks, this is how good we aren’t.
Master / NCSU84 – Don’t forget, Gott was a miracle. Everyone we thought we wanted said no.
If we keep the FSU margin under 24 points, I will be shocked. This season is pretty much over. I saw that in the Tennessee game and today just confirmed it. We suck. The only reason we will likely go to a bowl is because everyone not named Clemson and FSU sucks equally as bad. No more congratulations from me.
I`ve see coaches come and go over the past 50 years and all i can say I`TS TOUGH BEING A WOLFPACK FOOTBALL FAN .Suppose i`ll go to my grave and nothing will change, but you know i`ll there next Sat.pulling for them…..HOPE YOU WILL TOO.
After 30 years of watching Wolfpack football….the 4th quarter had the makings of the typical loss. In splendid Wolfpack fashion, we the fans were given the good ole “false hope” treatment right at the end to keep us watching until the misery plan could be put in place.
“Despite the errors they never gave up, played the whole game, and came close to winning. We keep improving week to week, we can go places. ”
Can I have a little of what you are smoking?
Watched the game with hope after hope that we would pull it out. As disappointing as it is, with as many blown coverages, defensive offsides, not playing through the offside penalties, and five turnovers (not for lack of effort, I might add), on the average we won’t have anything go this bad the rest of the season. Of course you can have one hand in a fire and the other in a bucket of ice and on average you should be reasonably comfortable. Not willing to throw this team under the bus yet but if this happens again, it will be the first time I’ve said O’Brien should go. Bottom line, I’m not willing to give up on these guys.
We would have never had to battle to even tie the game had we not allowed 30 points in the first quarter from our own mistakes and penalties.
if the rare possibility of point shaving is in play:
it’s Federal Felony time. this ain’t NCAA infraction stuff.
it’s ironic that Miami faces some of the same accusations.
ironic -that- edit.
