   I look forward to Syracuse joining the conference. I’ll enjoy telling ‘Cuse fans how I’ll never, ever forget that State beat Donovan McNabb. It was ’98 and McNabb’s Syracuse was 11th ranked. I was 11 years old.

   The description of Barnette kinda reminds me of a more recent QB we’ve had, what with scrambling and staying aware of passing opportunities. And we came into that game with an NCAA best 10 interceptions. Seems like we have a ballhawk or two on the team these days too.

   Logarithm(or anyone else that can verify) wasn’t the game at Syracuse the first time the new overtime rules were put in place?

   I do remember that this was one of the few times that Mike O’Cain showed some guts. He rushed in the play to go for two points(when it wasn’t required)after State scored a TD and only needed the single extra point to tie Syracuse back up. Syracuse looked completely confused and was totally taken off guard by the move. Boom! Two point conversion and the Wolfpack is on the bus heading for the airport.

   Probably still a few Cuse fans still sitting in the Carrier Dome still bewildered. Just like there may be a few UNC fans still in Kenan after Damon Hartman’s 55 yard field goal and some of our own still in Carter-Finley still sitting wondering what happened vs. Penn State in the early ’80′s as that dead duck of a field goal attempt got blown over the goal posts.

   Those endings are so entertaining.
