DFCF: 2,000 days since UNC-CH beat State in football

We just wanted to commemorate an anniversary with our readers today as it has been 2,000 days since UNC-CH last found a way to defeat NC State on the football field.

This little statistical nugget came to my attention through Dave From Cater-Finley’s twitter feed this afternoon.

Do you know why it’s been 2000 days since UNC has beaten STATE in football?

    Because UNC Football sucks.

They wouldn’t want to win more often and make it seem like a competitive series; it might legitimize the rivalry.

I’m pretty sure I was a sophomore living in Lee Hall. We were favored that game and my buddies went to Chapel Hill to watch that game. We lost. It was terrible.

The hilarity is in the fact they were cheating for at least 1800 of those days.

At least they didn’t have to vacate any wins against us.

I hate to put a damper on this, but how many days has it been since we beat them in basketball?

‘Stick, that all depends on how many of their wins are vacated……

lupus, unfortunately vacating their wins against us does not turn them into wins for us. I think we still take the loss (or maybe it becomes a non-event, like the game was never played).

They just don’t get credit for the win any more.

As fun as it might be to celebrate this “milestone”, this kind of supports UNX fans’ assertions that all we care about is beating them.

I’m just playing the “negative nabob” today…However, I’d love to see those banners stripped out of the rafters and replaced with banners saying “Cheater Cheater Where’d You Meet That No Class Swahili Professor”!

Stick, this was the last glorious time we beat them in basketball:

It has been 1,923 days since Feb. 3, 2007. Not quite as negative as you thought!

Like most here I suspect, I had no clue about day 2000 (D2K) until seeing this. But if you dangle something like this in front of any fanbase, they’re gonna have a good chuckle. If the heels want to allow their arrogance to perceive that as obsession, fine by me.

    I second theCOWDOG…to another 2K!
