WRALSportsFan.com Another day, another round of NC State speculation.
So what is going on? A byproduct of using a search firm to conduct the search. Debbie Yow is using Parker Executive Search to reach out to various interested parties. After some level of interest is established, the topic of compensation is eventually going to be brought up. While we might be playing semantics, it isn’t an offer.
….
Let’s put it another way. Say you’re an engineer at SAS. You like working there, but you heard Cisco is hiring. Your curiosity leads to inquiring about pay and benefits. You never officially applied for the job and never got an offer, but you use the potential numbers to better your situation with your current employer.
Yow isn’t dealing with out-right rejection. Instead, she is dealing with miscommunication and/or coaches who feel the need to control their own message.

At least people are “interested” but I doubt the assistant AD would say anything different publicly.
I told you last night to ignore this trollish nonsense. Kingston is very authoritative. Seth Davis and “Brooks” can both go f-ck themselves.
Thank you Chris Kingston and DY.
Summary of what Kingston said:
“Coaches are showing interest and inquiring about possible compensation. NC State provides information. That is not an offer.”
What is implied is that some coaches are inquiring about the job and possibly using the information to boost their image or current compensation.
BTW, I laugh when Seth Davis is called “Legit”.
Gotta love that. Just instills more confidence that DY is doing right by us (the fans & school). Gotta love a rumor crusher
Thanks for posting this. Is this where we say BJD95 was right?
I think when this is all over, NCSU should consider suing one or two of these national media twerps, for damage to image/brand, and thus the ability to acquire resources, talent, and financial gain . Goodman would probably be at the top of my list.
Of course, it would never happen, but for you lawyers out, is such thinking legally sound?
Somebody needs to wrap that tool Davis around a tree…
Just passed this along to WFNZ here in Charlotte, and they reported it on the air.
Right about what? If you are not concerned about this search, you are not paying attention.
Beginning to think any coach contacted or who contacts the search firm should be made to sign a confidentiality agreement before discussing any substantive information, if that is not already the practice.
So it is “trolling”, when you state an opinion that defers from your own?
“Right about what? If you are not concerned about this search, you are not paying attention.”
What are you concerned about?
How refreshing is it to have an athletic department with professionals? We are in good hands.
>>>any coach contacted or who contacts the search firm should be made to sign a confidentiality agreement before discussing any substantive information>>>
It would shock me if that was not the case. How they get around this and start using the School for a raise or an ego boost is beyond me.
Concerned about ending up with another mid-major guy that no one wants or the 6th or 7th option. Debbie Yow is human, I know that will come as a shock to many. Some act like who ever she hires will be a home run. I understand why, because she is not Lee Fowler (thank God), but she is not the greatest thing to happen to sports. She could very well swing and miss. At which point, the program will be 32 years away from being anything.
Statefan1998 = debbie downer…seriously man, why all the negativity.
Thank you Chris Kingston.
Davis, Brooks, Pastner’s camp – go F a cheese grater.
Looks like DY is on her way to Houston: http://www.wralsportsfan.com/voices/blogpost/9365615/
BJD, should we start to be concerned or are we still in your 36-48 hour window?
I really not trying to be down. The problem I have is that everyone is just assuming that Debbie Yow can do no wrong and that we will hire the next Coach K. As stated, I know people love her because she is not Lee Fowler, but lets not assume that she will get a coach that will be great.
Yeah, I’m concerned. Pretty sure the homerun window is closed. Still cautiously optimistic re extra bases. Don’t believe anywhere close to the bottom of the barrel (Marshall).
When the “news” is endless pontification and opinion by the so called journalists, that means there is no news. I remain confident that we will get someone who fits the profile that DY outlined. There are a number of good candidates out there. Raiding someone from a destination job is nearly impossible. The stars can align as in the case of TOB but that is rare. DY is smart to be patient and explore multiple opportunities. Her pick will definitely be an improvement. Be patient, enjoy some baseball. We will all know soon.
GO PACK!
Statefan1998, no one knows who we’ll end up with. But based on what we KNOW so far (that nobody KNOWS anything), then she is doing exactly what she said she would do. She handled the Sid situation about as well as anyone could. And she’s keeping this search quiet. All you “know” are the rumors you hear. At this point, any argument against Debbie Yow is a straw man argument. You assume she’s failing, then you call her out for failing. But you might want to wait for her to fail before you call her out. So far, from what I’ve seen, we have NOTHING to worry about. So until we do, maybe try to stop worrying.
In the end, you may be right about her. But at this point, we just know what she has done. And so far, she’s handled everything like a professional.
BJD, thanks. Disappointing, but then again this is NC State athletics we are talking about so it was fairly foolish for me to get my hopes up in the first place.
