NC State in the 2010 ACC Football Championship Game
SFN wanted to share some great news with you – come hell or high water, NC State WILL be represented in the ACC Championship football game in Charlotte this year!!!
We’ve learned from some of our connections at the conference office that Doug Rhodes, supervisor of ACC football officials, has asked the chain crew that works NC State’s home football games to work the upcoming championship game (contingent upon NC State’s football team is NOT playing in the game.)
If you were not aware, sideline officials/chain gangs work entire seasons as a crew together at one school and are comprised of officials who live in the general area.
Obviously, the conference wants to avoid even the appearance of impropriety, so if Tom O’Brien and the Wolfpack makes it Charlotte then our chain gang will not. Logically this doesn’t compute as the sideline officials are unbiased and could be just as unethical at any regular season home game as they could be in Charlotte. But let’s not try to introduce too much linear thinking into sports administration and especially the ACC office. If we complain too much, John Swofford may really throw the hammer at Florida State!

As much as the chain gang would love to work the championship, I’d rather have them be disappointed this year,
Wait a minute. If NC State goes to the ACC CG, then I suspect the chain gang would come from either UNC or Wake. Given what we did to both of them, the conspiracy theories could still work against us.
MY QUESTION, are seats being reserved for NCSU fans. VT is obviously going and VT fans have the luxury of knowing and therefore get to go ahead and buy tickets. I plan to attend if we make it but not buying tickets til I know we are going. SO, are any tickets being reserved for VT’s opponents?
The WPC has already sent out Post season ticket reservation packets to all WPC members…we have reserved tickets for the ACCCG,Chick-fila,Tire Bowl,DC, and Nashville…of coarse you are only charged if NC State goes to the particular game you have reserved tickets for…We could not make the Orange Bowl,Champs Sports,or Shreveport…the Orange Bowl tickets are $150 each….
Both participants will have opportunity to buy reserved seats through the school. The difference is that VT fans could go ahead and start buying seats through corporate tickets and local tickets on ticketmaster.
You can buy tickets through the ACC for $25 bucks. VT doesn’t exactly have an elusive fanbase… it wouldn’t be very hard to find some VT fans to sell tickets to if you buy the cheaper ACC tickets then end up needing to dump them.

Coach13, just go on gopack.com and if you are a wpc member you can reserve your tickets now, and if they dont make it to Charlotte, you wont be charged anything….
nevermind coach, they only have the Bowl games on the site….but you can call the WPC and do it on the phone…..

The deadline for getting Charlotte tickets, based on WPC priority, was last Friday.

So neiether player is suspended? Good for Williams, stupid for Reddick. He threw a punch. What about Woody Hayes? I understand that he was coach and held to a different standard I still don’t feel like it was the right call by the ACC. You cant fine these kids. R. Seymour for the Raiders yesterday got thrown out on a punch. He will get fined though. Now he does have a prior incident so who knows. The ACC should have reviewed the whole incident. He had his knee on Spencer and grinding it in.

I don’t know about you guys but I just got an email that NCSU has already sold out its alloment of 10,000 seats. They are directing people to the ACC site for tickets if you haven’t pre-ordered yet.
I am glad everyone is excited about a spot in the ACC championship game. But has everyone forgotten Maryland? That is our priority, so all the pack fans need to head to College Park, to send us to the championship. Tickets are sold out at State, but you can call the Maryland ticket office, and request seats in the State section. That is what I did. The number is 1-800-462-8377. See you at the game, Saturday!
College Park is close enough (with a 3:30 start) that you can get up at a normal hour and still make the less than five hour drive (easy drive, btw, at least until you hit DC, but mid-day saturday shouldn’t be bad) and arrive with time for a 1-2 hour tailgate.
If I wasn’t clear across the damn country I’d be going.
I wish Wolfpack officials would push back the starting time for the basketball game here at 6pm an hour so those of us in the RBC Center could watch the 3:30pm football game to its conclusion on the jumbotron.
