NC State offers Rodney Purvis
Purvis can add tonight’s offer to the offer he reportedly got at Duke this past weekend.
In case you didn’t know, Purvis is considered by some to be the #1 ranked combo guard in the country in the class of 2012 (after being re-classified from 2013 earlier this month). Purvis plays at Upper Room Christian Academy in Raleigh and for the CP3 All-Star AAU team.
Other schools actively recruiting Purvis include Kentucky, UNC, Louisville, Texas, Wake Forest and dozens of others.

If UNC gets involved, let’s hope we can pony up enough money to outbid them. Does UNC lose recruiting battles? Sorry, I know that’s off topic and I should just be happy that this guy is considering State, but as soon as I see UNC mentioned, I immediately start thinking of exotic trips, large houses, wads of cash, and extravagant jewelry. I guess it’s just instinct.
Nice vid, BTW.
I wonder why Sid waited so long to offer Purvis because he is usually the first to reach out to the players he really wants. Perhaps, we missed on some others.
He was supposed to be class of 2013. That should have given anyone plenty of time.
Does he wear 21 in honor of Rodney Monroe?
I believe I heard Sid comment that he doesn’t like to offer scholarships to anyone prior to their junior year. Purvis’ reclassification to 2012 made this happen.
