A Good Timeline on John Blake’$ Career

Allegations about Blake’s possible role in the North Carolina agent scandals are only Blake’s most recent headlines. I’ve followed John Blake’s career with a combination of morbid fascination and interest since his days in the 1990s wrecking the Dallas Cowboy locker room and then the Oklahoma Sooner football program.

And as a Longhorn and Cowboy fan, I confess that I was bothered by only one of those offenses. One has to wonder what North Carolina – one of the nation’s most respected public universities and a school one does not generally associate with scandal – could have been possibly thinking?

I just noticed this morning that Wichard is the agent for Claussen. He’s been too busy to get Claussen’s contract negotiated with the Panthers.

    Interesting!

  2. Statefan1998 Says:

Clausen is in camp, signed a day before it openned.

  3. Pack05 Says:

From a Heel in response… priceless

“I can tell you this about UNC — if this goes where it appears to be heading, everyone connected to the football program, including the AD, will be gone.

I’d rather UNC remain a women’s soccer university than become home to the John Blakes of the world.”

John Blake was supposedly the source of the Troy Aikman gay rumors.

  5. Plz2BStateFan Says:

^^ Where is that quote from?

That’s covered well in the linked article.

  7. bradleyb123 Says:

I didn’t realize there were allegations implicating John Blake in any of this. I thought it was just us State fans throwing stuff like that out there, and that the reality was it was just the players acting on their own.

Pack05, that is a priceless quote, and I suspect more Carolina fans would agree with that than would disagree. I think they want their uber-successful athletics programs, but they equally like to bloviate about their CLASSY university and fans. They don’t want their “class” going out the window any more than they want their basketball legacy going out the window.

Speaking of the investigation, has anyone heard the current status? Is it still going on? I haven’t read much about it lately. It almost feels like they’re done, and just deliberating as to what the results and punishment (if any) will be. Are they still investigating?

btw, I heard Marvin Austin has moved back to DC. But the source is an unknown. Word from the UNX camp is he is here preparing for football season. Has anyone heard anything along these lines?

  9. elvislives Says:

I appreciate your using his real name, John Blake, and resisting the temptation to use “Black Santa”.

  10. islandbreeze Says:

Somebody should photochop Austin’s head over Charles Thompson and Butch’s head over Switzer’s……hahaha

  11. lush Says:

WOW! That is a hell of a timeline. Hears hoping that he makes Butch #3 on his list of coaches he helped get fired.

  12. TOBtime Says:

“Damn. Switzer. Sherrill. Did he do any work with Idi Amin?”

Now that is absolutely classic! I knew from reading on here the guy was bad news but good Lord! I truly have trouble believing even the holes would sign up a guy that bad with some proven wrongdoing and LOTS of undocumented but well-known stuff. If their arrogance allowed it they will get what’s coming to them.

No doubt there is a lot of dirt over there to the west but the question remains: how much does the NCAA intend to dig up… If the precedent set in Southern California is any indication UNC’s and the Chief’s futures remain wildly uncertain.

  14. bradleyb123 Says:

Do you really think so, packalum44?

I just have a sinking feeling that Carolina is going to get a slap on the wrist. I’m afraid a couple of players will actually be the ones getting their wrists slapped, not the university or the coaches.

I hope I’m wrong, assuming there’s truth to the allegations. I’d like to think they will get a fair and just punishment from the NCAA. I just don’t see it happening. Carolina always seems to get the favoritism treatment.

I missed reading the morning newspaper cause we’ve got a thief in our neighborhood that steals my paper on Thursday morning. Gotta feeling it’s my neighbor’s “illegal yard crew” that comes that day. Can’t do it next Thursday, but have ordered an ICE baseball cap and Border Patrol emblem that I plan to wear one morning when they appear along with my Glock on the hip~ It’ll be interesting to see if they ever come back again~~

If that doesn’t work, I’m gonna buy a Trail Camera to catch the SOB~!~

I did hear later today that Claussen was in camp today so I figured something must have happened.

  17. non sequitur Says:

Ha. Nice highstick. You could also get up really early and sabotage it along the lines of taking a dump inside and folding it back up perfectly, then placing it back exactly as you found it. That, or put a life sized cut-out of Jan Brewer in your window.

  18. blpack Says:

He has been around some real winners (sarcasm). Looks like this is really getting into some of the dark places within the UNC-ch athletics family.

  19. 82grad Says:

a slap on the wrist, at most. the recent investigation is about a couple of stupid players, not blake and unc.
