Open Post Update – Men win and women’s tank hits empty in 2nd half
It’s a busy day for Wolfpack basketball. The women’s team, led by first year coach Kellie Harper, will take on Duke in the ACC Championship from the Greensboro Coliseum at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net.
The men’s team wraps up its season this afternoon against Boston College at 2 p.m. in the RBC Center. The game is on Raycom. Although Miami’s loss to FSU Saturday putting the Pack firmly into 11th place regardless of what happens today, NC State still has a chance to beat BC and head into the ACC tournament on a positive note.
This is the spot to post your thoughts about both games as they happen. I’ll be at the RBC Center to cover the men’s game so I’ll have Twitter updates and info beginning around 2 p.m. For coverage of the women’s game check out FSN and follow Technician Sports on Twitter. Those guys did a great job with game updates yesterday during the women’s win over Boston College.

Last week they cut into a tied with one minute left Tn vs Ky game to show Wake vs UNC. Yet they will not cut in a 9 point game to show the NCSU game.
Go figure.
Starters…
Scott Wood
Javi Gonzalez
Tracy Smith
Farnold Degand
Dennis Horner
Women’s score?
No idea
TW is acting up and FoxSports is in the crapper.
I am rebooting now.
Johnny Thomas, Richard Howell and CJ Williams in after two minutes
27-32 duke
Looks like another awful NCSU start
Julius Hodge being honored during the timeout.
The women started strong but struggled with Dukes pressure. They had like 15 TO’s in the 1at half. To be down by 5 with that many TO’s they are hanging in there.
6 TOs in the men’s game
Wow we are getting some pity from the announcers.

This was my original reaction as well. However, last week’s Carolina-Wake game was broadcast by CBS, not Raycom. I’m pretty certain CBS has a policy to switch over for regional broadcasts (similar to their NCAAT coverage); I’m not sure Raycom has that right since it’s distributed to various local channels, which just happens to be CBS/WRAL in the Triangle.
That’s two fouls on Javi with 13:53 to go. Mays in.
Julius Hodge wore a hat promoting his website. Classic.
Did you notice the shoes LRM?
Women now down 42-29
I missed the shoes…this outghta be good!
What did they say? They did not show them on TV
They didn’t say anything…they were shinier than a new car. Like blinding.
Mrs. Wuf competing in the pushup contest right now being put on by the US Army.
She might win.
Turnovers are just killing the Wolfpack Women.
Must be contagious.
Just tuned in to see we’ve had another bar burning 1st half. 21 pts. Yikes.
Honoring Norm Sloan right now….a ton of older players on the court right now, including Sidney Lowe and Monte Towe.
Is there a comparison to Sid’s and Harper’s first year?
OK reg season with a good ACC tournament run to be ended by a team too good to be beat?
Duke’s very beatable. But we’ve been very careless with the ball and I think we just ran out of gas. Not enough legs to get those jump shots to fall and our pressure D has not been very effective. Good effort, though, and a very likely tourney bid.
