Wolfpack Sports Marketing Goes After PackPride Message Board Poster
Not a lot of time to post today, but it looks like Wolfpack Sports Marketing is really upset with some posters on PackPride.

Bond keith montana must dissolve against this credit. Ironically, he supported single and his chance agreed for a torrent .ru in an allowed equatorial yiddish.

Errr, what was he supposed to have hypothetically said?
Something about Tony Haynes saying “you should not have to be here to watch this” (paraphrased).
BTW it is something to see what that board has to do to keep their media credentials.
Really, if they took that post seriously as something that people believed unquestioningly, they are as dumb as dudes in strip clubs who think they’ve found a girl that really, really likes them.
This seems like a totally logical thing for those nitwits to be concerned about.
What a joke the management of that board has become.
It’s all about the dollar, CG. Money spins everything, and as soon as you’re dependent on it you lose any objectivity whatsoever. I’m guessing Hendu and Co were threatened with their cashcow… access… if they didn’t do this. There’s no honor and dignity in supply and demand.
Anyway…
Looks like this site could be inundated with refugees. Set up the tents, boys! Make a chow line. They’re coming across the border…
Wait…what??? What are you saying there?
Trust me – I was at the game and wish I wasn’t there to see it. I am just glad for the Guiness on draft later that evening that helped me forget we played that day.
What a bunch of hub-bub about nothing. The Wolfpack Sports Management has to have something better to do than play hall monitor with local message boards and blogs.
Wolfpack Sports Management – You want others to take our sports teams seriously than lets start with the simple stuff like NOT sending ONLY Mrs. Wuf to an away football game?
I understand the Red Rally is going on the same weekend, but a bit annoying to explain to BC fans why our ONLY mascot at the game “is wearing a dress”.
^ Noah, I didn’t really understand the need to go there either. Alpha just shot Santa Claus as far as I’m concerned.
LF: You’ve got to be kidding me. How much does one of those costumes cost? Buy another one for crying out loud. Give me a twelve pack and I’ll walk around in it for free.
I’ve already been the Easter Bunny and a Kangaroo… I am pretty sure I can handle being Mr. Wuf covering his eyes and shaking his head after every BC score.
He claimed that during a commercial break, after Haynes talked to O’Brien going into halftime, that Haynes said “Your lucky you don’t have to watch this”.
Of ALL the comments they had to address it was that one? Why not data mine Lee Fowler’s name on any of the NC State boards and pass that 100% negative feedback up the chain. What a waste of time to provide an audio clip and ask the admin of the site to post a new thread to address what one poster said. I wish they’d provide an audio clip of why Lee Fowler still has a job.
I read the claim immediately after it was posted. I guess I’m gullible, because it appeared to be sincere. The poster is known for his chicanery, but not (as far as I know) for outright lying. If it was intended as a joke, it was missing the element of funny.
I have never gotten premium at PP primarily, and never will under current conditions because of the gestapo tactics the management and monitors regularly employ there. Their (over)reaction to this is just another excellent example of it. Of course, it really is nice that the SID is doing such a great job for NCSU (NOT!!!)
I quit at PP when I was giving what they deemed to be payed info on Josh Powell that I was getting from a former player who at the time was playing in a night basketball league with me in Raleigh. The player went with Josh to Chicago for the NBA workouts. PP zapped my comments every time I posted them on the “free” board. They weren’t flattering to Herb, and they were, i guess, something they were selling and that was against the party line over there. So I just focused my time on other sites, mainly here.
I liked this post by wolfpackernc:
I’m glad Annabelle and friends acted swiftly and harshly, just like they did when Barry Saunders, Chris Paul and Ron Wellman made their slanderous comments a few years back.
VAWolf…. that was followed up by someone saying “we only eat our own” or something to that effect. Very true.
“I’ve already been the Easter Bunny and a Kangaroo… I am pretty sure I can handle being Mr. Wuf covering his eyes and shaking his head after every BC score.”
This made me laugh very hard.
Sadly it is too true.
I would have to think that it is more than just the post. Someone (or more than one) must have believed the post and complained to WSM in order for a statement like that to be released.
If what I just stated is the case, I would be happy that my boss would stand by me and make it clear that incorrect public postings would not be tolerated.
And by the way, isn’t WSM a seperate entity from the SID?
I have always felt that there is a danger in the message board world today. Many people make statements that have no basis in fact, but many will read those statements and believe every word! These items may affect others in ways that we don’t consider. But the internet poster may or may not be held responsible for their comments.
We always deride the estalishment for “overreacting”. When will we demonstrate the responsibility that an open public forum should require? We all know about the “pack your bags” comment on last weeks radio show. How about the Lee Fowler rant this week? You have an opportunity to ask questions to Dana Bible and Mike Archer, but the caller instead starts to go off about Lee Fowler? And they expect that two Coaches on the show would comment about their boss’s boss?
When did the freedoms that we cherish include being rude to others? Why shouldn’t civility be practiced by all? When will we hold our fellow posters and callers to the same standard we want to hold the subject of these callers and posts?
PP = Fail
I find it amusing that Fowler has so often dismissed internet posters as the “lunatic fringe”, however, in an instance like this, it becomes “real”. They can’t have it both ways. Which is it?

Thats a decent point, but if I were in a public position like this, I would rather my boss say “I think you’re doing a good job, and I’m not going to listen to what people say they think they heard you say.” and let the matter drop.
I would also ask WSM and PP – Has dealing with the situation in this manner made you look better or worse? Do you think people would still be talking about it if you had done nothing?
I had never even heard of any of this until WSM made PP post the corrected audio clip. If diffusing the situation was their goal (seems like it should be) then this is yet another epic fail. Color me shocked.

Since 1789.
