This is one the of the few sports items my wife remembers each year – she likes to have the ACC Football helmet schedule to hang on the refrigerator for the upcoming season. So, if she likes it that much then it gets its own entry each year. Thanks to the good folks at 850TheBuzz

I’m one of those who sees ‘graphically’… & looking at the ‘helmet schedule’ helps me recognize something about RIVALRIES.
As I understand, each of the ACC schools can REQUEST**** [whom they would LIKE to play as their last game of the season, and can ask for] a BYE WEEK in a ‘general’ time of year [mid-year; 3rd week; 10th week; etc.] or PRECEEDING A PARTICULAR OPPONENT.**** (Of course, they may NOT get what they requested, but the ACC office TRIES to grant their wish).
Interestingly,
-Clemson [apparently] requested their bye BEFORE WFU (‘think Dabo may think his job rides on how he does with that opponent?]..,; &,
-WE, of course [made more sense with Amato] have traditionally requested a bye before FSU (as did UNC, hmmm); &,
-GT requested theirs before UGA [recruiting]; &,
-MARYLAND [apparently] requested a bye before playing us; &,
- and UVA, VT, & FSU all [apparently] requested their bye before playing UNC-CH. ###This is an interesting ‘note’ about UNC’s schedule–their ‘hype’ as a Top 25 Preseason Team; etc., that THREE conference schools have a bye week before playing them.
‘Will be interesting to watch how they do in those three games!!!11111

We traditionally request a bye during one weekend of the State Fair. The fact that it seems to occur around FSU is I think happenstance.
On that note, it appears that we finally have a State Fair-free schedule. Am I reading that right?

Oh joy…I will be receiving this from about 17 different people via email in the coming weeks.

A helmet schedule has been up at the theacc.com for several months. I printed it out earlier this summer, but had to search the site to find the page….they had deleted the link from the football page.
The one from 850 looks better printed out though. The last several years, I’ve gotten one done in EXCEL and will print out on 11×17 paper. These only print out at 8×11.

VaWolf, I was able to open the pdf and print on 11×17 with no problems.

Who did WF piss off in the scheduling department? Their bye week is Nov 21 before the Duke game. What a waste of a bye week.

nav, that gives Wake 2 bye weeks to end the season.
