As a follow-up to today’s thorough discussion the N&O gives us a much welcomed update on some important injuries for the Wolfpack! (Click here)

Tackle Alan-Michael Cash, whom coach Tom O’Brien said was the team’s best defensive lineman before having knee surgery, is back at full strength after missing three games according to the injury report released Tuesday evening.

Reserve offensive guard Curtis Crouch also is back from a foot injury.

Perhaps most importantly, linebacker Nate Irving is listed as probable, which means there is a 75 percent chance he will play against Florida State.

Left offensive tackle Julian Williams remains out with a shoulder injury.

You can come back in 3 weeks after knee surgery? Amazing. I guess it depends on the level of injury.

  2. thebigwood Says:

Any thoughts on why Hill is the back-up?

  3. DAMangum Says:

Hill isn’t what he used to be!

  4. aPACKadeez Says:

Yes, Hill isn’t what he used to be…plus…he’s not too good with the whole catching the ball thing.

  5. StateFans Says:

Catching the ball has always been a problem for Hill.

  6. Alpha Wolf Says:

We call him C’Ant Catch at our tailgates.

  7. Greywolf Says:

TOB said it was about production when he moved McKeen up to 1st team. Do ya think…

  8. Alpha Wolf Says:

Maybe demoting Hill will motivate him and make him a better player. I have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes, but I can see what’s going on during the games and Hill’s play is not first-team caliber.

  9. Ismael Says:

you guys are losing it…TOB already answered that question last week, wait while i recall neuron pool (computer sounds)

TOB said that since Hill had been out for so long he needed to work back into the lineup, get his stamina back, and that through all this time, Bryan deserved to play. Hill needs to produce for sure but i don’t think its a real demotion.

    Performance based orginizations rock!

Forget Hill folks, it’s just nice to have two scholarship TE’s so savor it, I’m sure Bible is.

It is HUGE to get Al MC back, I love what he brings to the table. He’s like a mini sumo wrestler with great hand work that makes it very hard for OL to keep any consistent leverage. During last years run of 4 W’s in a row the common theme was QB pressure. Whether it was Young, Kuhn or whomever getting the sack or hit on the QB, Cash was always in the mix.

Lets not declare victory yet. We are getting them back, but AMC and Nate the Regulator have missed several weeks. They probably won’t be at full speed, strength, or stamina yet. At least having them available, however, is a huge boost for the team.

I love to watch Ant Hill block, but he has hands made of stone.

    Thank God

  15. Pack92 Says:

Cash and Irving by themselves present problems to an OC. Together they totally change blocking schemes. Willie Young should have a chance to turn it on to the outside this week w/o being double teamed. If we can disrupt the offense enough I have yet to see Fla. St. make good changes this year. This could be an awesome game for the Pack if the D can step up and the O just keeps steady.

  16. buttPACKer Says:

this should be a good game. . . I’ll have my nitro-glycerin tabs at the ready!

  17. howlie Says:

Ant’s not ‘demoted.’ Bryant has been spectacular and has earned his spot. Ant’s knee has still got to be gimpy and he’s a month out of shape, so therefore, needs to play “spots” of the game with rest in between. Better that another start & he works his way back into his spot with caution.

  18. RabidWolf Says:

One thing nobody has touched on is FSU’s glaring inability to punt, punt block, or get downfield on punts. Their punt team has been a black eye for them all season (Miami game). If we can get them into tight punting situations, we may be able to get to the punter, or roll out a huge return.

Do ya think they’ll try to kick off deep?

  19. EverettBeez Says:

Just got an e-mail from my Miami buddy begging us to beat FSU.
He also passes on that the fans are agree, fired the UM OC, fearful of loosing to dook. lol.
