UNC is all alone carrying the banner of evil in the big dance. Standing in their way is perhaps their worst matchup – the grinding, defensive-minded Washington State Cougars. In a way, we’re all CougFans tonight, but no way do we adopt after that wicked mojo we put on Clemson.
I remember a bad 80s movie (no idea as to title), in which Tom Hanks, John Candy, etc. were in the Peace Corps, missionaries, or something like that. One of the running gags was John Candy teaching a group of indigenous folk the Washington State fight song. That would be a great YouTube to link in the comments.

I believe that sheep are the natural prey for cougars.

Let’s go Cougs! … Xavier looks really good against WVU so far … WVU looks a little out of whack so far
The movie you’re referring to is ‘Volunteers’ – and it was indeed pretty sucky (came out not to long after Hanks’ “Bosoom Buddies” sitcom)
I have been unable to find the clip you’re talking about … maybe a professional YouTuber will have more luck
- Wazzu – not a bad start

Nice rebounding work, Cougs … NC State-esque
March 27th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
A walk called on Hopsbrough !!!!!!
March 27th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
When I saw that travel called, I had a brief flutter of hope for Wazzu. They really are defending the shit out of Hansblow and Ellington.
March 27th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Aron Baynes playing really well … the refs will take notice before long and he will have 4 fouls at the half
ok, ok, i’m a bit biased
March 27th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
I really like this Wazzou coach. Add another one to the list.
March 27th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
^Yeah, Tony Bennett is solid … Wazzu may have some trouble holding onto him
March 27th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
Thank you Derrick Low
March 27th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Crap. Looks like the Holes might be unstoppable.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
Wazzou is really going to have to pick it up offensively to have a chance. Great job so far on the defensive end, but you have got to put the ball in the cup and limit the TO’s.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Yep. Unstoppable. Holy crap.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Well, that certainly sucked
March 27th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Gotta give Roy credit on that last inbounds play. Wide open three from the corner is all you can ask for. What are the chances that Wazzou holds the chosen one to 2 points in the second half? If there are going to be officials on the floor — zero.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Solid comeback by Huggy Bear and crew. We’ll see if Xavier can take a punch.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
“What are the chances that Wazzou holds the chosen one to 2 points in the second half? If there are going to be officials on the floor — zero.”
^Agreed … That’s like a +10 pt. bonus for the Holes coming next half … So, the lead is actually 24 pts. (14 pt. halftime lead + 10 automatic Handsjob free throws in the second half = 24 pt. defecit)
I keed, I keed … If I couldn’t laugh as a State fan well, then – I don’t really want to think about that alternate universe
March 27th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
This game is being officiated fairly – UNC just really freaking good.
March 27th, 2008 at 7:40 pm
Cougs red hot from the floor … (rolling eyes)
March 27th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Ok, can we please switch to the Xavier – WVU game now Greg Gumbel?
March 27th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
This is a yawner. UNC will win with ease. Will be interesting to see how the Tennessee/L’ville game shapes up. Need to hope one team blows out the other so the starters can get a breather for UNC.
March 27th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
Must suck to be in a captive market without multiple game feeds.
March 27th, 2008 at 8:16 pm
Will Huggy Bear go for the win or OT?
March 27th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Alexander for 2 plus foul!
March 27th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Xavier will shoot for the win.
March 27th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
Yes, it does suck to not have multi feeds …
Xavier – WVU going to overtime and I’m having to watch the final 1:16 of a Hole celebration … great
