Hold That Tiger! Clemson/Nova Live Blogging
So far today, the Tampa pod has seen upset wins by Western Kentucky (best game of the tourney so far), San Diego (guttiest performance of the tourney so far, winning after 2 best players fouled out in OT), and Siena (surprising rout of Vandy). We’ll see if the court has enough mojo to lift the Wildcats past the Tigers…but I don’t think it does. I feel confident that this will be the rarest of rarities around here – a happy liveblog.
10:01 – I like what I see so far. Great defensive intensity and an early 9-2 lead. Clemson playing with such passion you might think Nova slapped their mothers or something.
10:08 – 12-7 at the first media break. Nova has withstood the Tigers’ opening fury. We’ll see how effectively Clemson punches back. Personally, think Booker needs more looks in the low post.
10:17 – So far, a good case study of why the Big East wanted out of the ACC/BE Challenge. 22-12, Clemson. Refs just missed a blatant Nova travel, too – should still be 22-9.
10:25 – Tigers up 13 now. It could easily be 20. Nova looks absolutely shell shocked.
10:31 – All the CBS feeds cut to Louisville/Boise. WTF?
10:34 – Fucking CBS and their Wal-Mart level of technical sophistication. The ticker has Clemson up 18.
10:36 – This must feel like a conference game for Memphis. But who cares – we want Clemson carnage!
10:44 – Nova has cut the lead to 10. Not sure whether a feed of the Clemson game is going to be available to keep live blogging, though. Very irritating.
11:08 – Pretty clear no CBS feed (at least any of the 4 I have access to) will be going back to Clemson/Nova. I guess I will be able to blog the last 7 or 8 minutes once the dull Indiana/Arkansas game ends. Damn it.
11:15 – Tiger lead down to 5, Arkansas extends its lead to 9. Still, CBS won’t switch back on any feed. Assholes.
11:19 – Think WRAL finally switching back.
11:23 – Wow, this is a vintage NC State-like collapse.
11:30 – Nova travels constantly, and it’s never whistled.
11:34 – Nova takes the lead. Not looking good at all. Sorry if we jinxed you, Tiger fans.
11:48 – Yep, we jinxed ‘em. And have to listen to the moronic ramblings of Tim Brando while Clemson can’t buy a basket. Oh well, at least we have “team playing Duke” and “team playing UNC” left to cheer for.
11:51 – I care about David Beckham even less than The Masters.
11:57 – Forget Midas, we have the Wolfpack Touch – everything we touch turns to shit. I’m checking out of this disastrous live blog.

The Tigers have pounced!
good start!
I love that SFN decided to adopt Clemson. My whole family are Clemson fans so they are naturally are my 2nd team.
Go Tigers!
dammit! … gumbel just took the clemson game away from me on direct tv!
a**hole
i don’t give a s*it about arkansas-indiana
What in the heck is wrong with CBS. They wouldn’t yank the unx game off and they yank the Clemson game before they are even a 1/4 the way through.
F you Greg Gumbel and CBS … Those of us w/out cable or the expensive march madness package on Direct Tv in the Raleigh market are more interested in Arkansas-Indiana or Louisville-Boise? … Really?
So glad I can watch name brand crappy basketball now … “But, but, IT’S INDIANA!!!!”
f*ckers
CBS is clearly not going to go back to the Clemson-Nova game as the other 2 games are at the half and we are watching Memphis-UTArlington …
joy!
I blame Gumbel
F you Greg Gumbel!
I’m having to watch the Clemson game on crappy stream-vision on March Madness on Demand … It’s a solid couple minutes behind, but at least it’s free I guess
Clemson
Better
Score
so CBS will switch.
You can get the live feed at http://www.cbs.com – not as good as TV but better than nothing.
Arlington appears to be keeping it respectable against Memphis thus far … let’s go UTA! first #16 to win ever! (maybe? hopefully?)
Well, viewers in the Raleigh market are at least getting to see that Eric Gordon – although talented – is also overrated … (I’ve felt that way all year, not just during this game) … carries the ball a lot, too
I don’t understand why CBS decided to open up extra channels for those who have digital cable if they are gonna show the Indiana game on all of the channels. They should lose their rights for next year.
Mays gets mugged on a no-call and reynolds converts on the other end, nova w/in 1
Clemson cannot make a free-throw
don’t know if you guys have the game or not…
12:40 to go, Clemson by 1
Scottie Reynolds puts Nova in the lead
the only thing that would look more familiar about this is if the game was in the RBC Center
I think it was the “happy liveblog” comment that set up the jinx … j/k
Game has looked like the Orlando Old Spice Championship game here in the 2nd half … Clemson getting called for some touchy fouls; Villanova being EXTREMELY physical and not being called for all of it … I am shocked
Terrible call against Potter there … typical
Wow … Reynolds just threw the ball to himself … it’s all going Nova’s way now
great D by clemson trumped by a miraculous shot by fisher
Holy Cow! A call for Clemson!
NC State-esque turnover for Stitt there
Dammit. Leave it to us State fans to bring our cursed jinxed nature upon the Clemson Tigers and fuck up their season.
My ears have started to burn like they do during a Wolfpack collapse
Booker fouls out on an ILLEGAL SCREEN. Quick, name a time that has happened against a Duke or Chapel Hill player.
Can’t, can you?
