I’ve heard it, too. I hope it’s not true.

Also: Please don’t ever cite Wikipedia. Those guys had Barnes, Calipari, and Lavin all listed as NC State head coaches. All that proves is that there is a rumor.

Good God, I hope it is not so. Prosser is one of the good guys.

From a source in the UNC athletic dept, the holdup in a public announcement is that his family did/does not know, specifically Mrs. Prosser.
So sad.

Very sad day for Wake Forest and the ACC. My heart goes out to all the Deacon fans, alumni, faculty and staff – but especially to Skip’s family.

What a shame. 56 is way to young. I can’t recall another ACC coach who passed away on the job. Coming so fast and unexpectedly makes it harder to accept.

sad day. one of the good guys. prayers sent to the BIG GUY

This is terrible. I feel sick, I truly do.
A little piece of all of us left with him. Friend or foe, he was one of the good guys who always seemed to do things the right way. Prosser taught his players to be competitive, to never give up and to give their best. While this sometimes left the Pack on the short end of the stick on the scoreboard, it was always a little easier to take losing to a class act like Coach Prosser.

I remember going to the final home game against Wake Forest my senior year. Everybody had gone home for spring break so somehow I managed to get court side seats. Of course the only game I get great seats at is the game where Chris Paul nails a last second shot to win.
I’ve always liked the competition we have with Wake Forest and I always liked Skip Prosser. I felt like we had a kinship as “the other two” Big Four schools (in the eyes of the media). My thoughts and prayers go out to the Prosser family and the Wake Forest community.

Wow, just horrible. Thoughts and prayers to the Prosser family and to the WFU community.

Terrible news, just when the future was really looking good for he and the Deacs.
The coaching search will be tough this time of year.
Sad day for the ACC family.

My prayers go out to Prosser’s family, I’ve always been a fan of Wake Forest’s basketball team and Skip. This is such a tragic thing for someone so young.
