David Glenn on TOB (Part II)
Your link is here. Money quote:
One of the biggest complaints about O’Brien among Boston College fans was that he didn’t take the Eagles to any big bowl games, which is sort of like Billy Joel blaming Christie Brinkley whenever the pair failed to win the Most Beautiful Couple award.

interesting read from ESPN today… lists the top 2 sport schools in the country
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?page=061221two-sportchart
^ NC STATE 24
Wake Forest 31
UNC 33
Duke 50
We won the combined 2 sport state title!!!
Hmmm…When you look at unx’s rating for football (66) side by side with their rating for basketball (6), I think this just confirms what we always knew about them. Rather appropriate, I’d say.
24 th in the country; 5th in the conference and we run off both of our coaches. We are a bunch of demanding SOB’s, but run the same comparison for the next five years and we will be in the top ten.
^Lee, is that you?
Maryland, very quietly in there at number 8. Kinda surprising, to me anyway.
Back to the thread…I was definitely apprehensive about TOB when I first heard, but I’ve researched it further now, and I think he and the wife will love the change. Also the close proximity to the their future retirement home. Now I’m kinda thinking TOB will flourish in Raleigh like never before, and we will all be asking him to put off his retirement for another seven or so years.
Woof/Mini Lee is right though, we’re headed nuthin but straight UP in this old world of college athletics. Movin on up…to the east side…to a big de-luxe apt in the sky,i,i,i…YEAH, we’re MOOvin on UP…
A little George Jefferson appropriate there.
Man, I hope Barry Saunders isn’t up this late. No telling what he would read into that.
I’ve lived in Raleigh all my life, and snow is a rarity, actual measurable accumulation is even more rare, and even if you have one storm worth 2-3 inches of snow, you likely won’t see a second. WHERE is that average of seven inches coming from?
Oh, and Woof Woof, please to not speak for me and others when you’re in the mood to call yourself an SOB.
Beowolf
That was BEFORE Jim Cantor, and the Weather Channel. This place is veritable winter wonderland now, don’t ya know.
Beowolf, I think the SOB remark was tongue-in-cheek.
Beo — Two years ago we got about 1/2 inch and Raleigh was paralyzed. I don’t recall any snows since. And thinking back over a lot of years — 7 inches is a pretty inflated average.
Probably just a man thing. 1/2 inch = 7 (lol)
The SOB remark was most definitely an attempt at sarcasm, my opinion of what our media friends might say.
