Football Links of Interest

Just some random college football links of interest that became overdue during our last couple of weeks of hiatus:

===> Let’s start with one of my favorite magazines, The Sporting News. TSN not only asks, “Is it football season yet?”…but, they also offer Wolfpackers a nice bone to chomp when they pick us as one of two teams who could surprise:

“The athletic, aggressive Wolfpack again will have the nation’s best defense. The difference this season: N.C. State will get some help from a retooled offense–specifically, more mature quarterback Jay Davis–that gave away too much last year.”

===> ESPN’s national spring recaps can be found here, with NC State & UNC-CH’s found here.

===> Former NC State Football Coach, Lou Holtz is joining ESPN as a television and radio analyst.

===> Mack Brown is at Texas because of UCLA. I love these kinds of articles. Don’t miss out on clicking on the Mack Brown picture caption. As much as we like Rick Barnes, we dislike Mack Brown.

===> Speaking of the master of recruiting…welcome to 21st century recruiting. I can see all those coaches who have spent the last decade deriding “the internet” as the ultimate of evils scratching their heads now.

===> Looks like we will see more of the LSU-transfer (Barrington Edwards) in Chapel Hill a little earlier than some expected this fall.

===> Have you seen Arizona’s new football uniforms? Interesting use of the sash.

===> Surely you’ve heard about the Wyatt Sexton incident at Florida State? …and Chris Rix was the one criticized for being weird? Poor Jesus…uh, I mean Wyatt’s police report has found its way onto the internet and can be viewed here. By the sounds of it, Wyatt was either high or auditioning for the remake of “The Program”. (Speaking of the program…who knew/remembered that movie had Halle Berry & Kristie Swanson?)
