After 71 years, the curse of the goat is broken…
    The Chicago Cubs are IN!
    so are the Cleveland Indians…

TV guys are pulling their hairs…

B’rer said it was “rigged” by Obama and QB…
doubtful, but… the Cubbies are wearing the unifying colors of Red, White and Blue….
as opposed to the more conservative Blue and White or Red and White or the crazy Charlie O colors…
    so who really knows…

Fix or NOT… the Cubs are the Real Deal…
103 in the Regular Season says something…

I’m not taking anything away from the Indians, I’ll leave that to others, ’cause I don’t know nuttin ’bout ’em and am too old or too lazy or both to google ’em….

so I’m wishing both teams, a lot of luck!

    It’s Baseball.
    It’s October.
    It’s the Cubs v. Indians.

    GOTT IT!

    POP!!!

Wow Cubbies put Kyle Schwarber on the roster and he’ll be batting DH tonight after being out for 6 months. Ballsy move. Joe Maddon is either going to be crucified or hailed as a genius, depending on how this turns out. That Cubs lineup looks pretty daunting though:

    1. Dexter Fowler
    2. Kris Bryant
    3. Tony Rizzo
    4. Ben Zobrist
    5. Kyle Schwarber
    6. Javier Baez
    7. Chris Coghlan
    8. Addison Russell
    9. David Ross

    With Lester taking the mound.

Admittedly, I’m a mere peon and shouldn’t question a manager coming off a 103 win season, but why put Baez all the way down at 6 when he’s coming off being the MVP of NLCS???

Vegas has this game as a pick’em, which I’m a bit surprised about.. and worried about as a Cubs fan, although I guess it can be justified a bit as the Indians have posted an incredible 57-28 home record this season.

Cubs in the frikkin World Series though? Am I dreaming?

    Hold on to your hats!

    Cuz…not a problem for me…

just want to watch some good plays and some good games…
and this time… it might be more fun knowing you’re on the other side…

I’m thinking this one goes six or seven games….

I’m watching Kluber’s stuff thinking that’s what stopped me from making more than $575/month in the low As. No. That shh#t he throws didn’t even exist.

What should be an off speed screwball, is an 85 mph reverse slider. Not even talkin’ about his naturally thrown breaking ball.

    ^Things I’ve never seen on the Diamond…

8 K’s by a pitcher in the WS
a runner laying on the grass like a DB, getting a cramp massage for five minutes…
(if MLB can have the replay booth… they can have a 1strike Delay of Game penalty)
Instant replay on the slide into second…
(reverse that and you don’t need the guys on the field)

    and… ok… I know…
you can’t argue Balls and Strikes…
    BUT!!!!

that said, Kleuber’s stuff is strutting tonite… no question ’bout it!

CD, don’t be too hard on yourself.. best line up in the league can’t solve the Kluber riddle. He’d be an ace even if his arsenal consisted of only that 2 seam fast ball.

Well at least no seconding guessing having Schwarber in the line up last night. He looked pretty good for being off 6 months. Better than the alternative, Jason Heyward, that’s for sure. Still not sure about him batting in the 5 spot though.

Kluber only threw 88 pitches so he’ll be available for two more games this series if need be. So that sucks.

    ^but Miller threw 45 – a season high….so that could be offsetting…
at 6’10” — he’s GOTT to be one of the tallest pitchers ever…

Batters are generally quick to adjust — getting a good look at both, the Cubs ought to do better next time…

Bauer v. Arreita tonight at 7:08ET should be another good one….

You’ve gotta love all the Cub’s fans coming out of the woodwork recently.

Basically everyone on the planet except those in Cleveland are rooting for the Cubs, unless they’re just plain evil. Why wouldn’t they? 108 years since their last WS win. It’s Cleveland versus the world.

The Cubs are set up to be one of baseball’s best for years to come.. so once this elusive WS thing gets flushed out of everyone’s system fans will start to get sick of hearing about em. That’s just how it goes. Sure you’re gonna get your share of Walmart bandwagoners, but I predict in a few years a lot of this love will fade to disdain… and you my friend sounds like you may already be boarding that train?!

Sorry…been in the ballyard, but not in here. Reagan was an oldtime broadcast recreater. Took talent to read off ticker tape, then bring it live. Arrietta is bringing it live.

Can’t believe Smoltzie tried to get head movement as a distraction, though. My kids knew from day one to never “look” at the pitcher. Find the little box of the release zone…Geebers
