Proud of the lady Wolfpack! ND looks unstoppable but they will hopefully be dealing with us on Saturday. Go Pack!

Thrilled to see Coach Moore named COY! I’m looking forward to watching the game Friday (and, with any luck, Saturday and Sunday). We’ve lost a couple of key players to injury; hopefully some others will rise to the opportunity.

It’s quite satisfying to see us seeded higher than *NC, too!

I’m glad the Women’s team is getting back where they belong. I’m really disappointed that Kellie Harper didn’t work out, but it’s even more clear with what Wes has done with this team that she just wasn’t the right coach for us.

Looking forward to a good ACC tourney and happy to see them back in the NCAA’s where hopefully they will make a strong run.

I caught something on the news about Notre Dame’s coach being named coach of the year … and turns out it’s true.

The link above is that Coach Moore was named ESPNW’s ACC Coach of the Year.

But the ACC picked Muffet McGraw as it’s coach of the year.

Interesting that ESPNW chose Wes. Can’t argue with the ACC COY award with MM from ND. Having a 29 – 0 record is pretty solid credentials.

We played toe – toe with them last Sunday….right up until the last few minutes of the first half. Then we sort of folded and could not get back on track.

They are unbelievable….so unless they get the big head, they should win the ACCT. Pity that if we let Miami beat us.

IF we had won that game, we would have been TIED with 4 losses with MD. We had the Tie Breaker as we beat them early on in Raleigh….that was a great game.

THEREFORE, as the THIRD seed, we would be coming up the OTHER side of the bracket and NOT having (potentially) to play ND on Saturday.

BUT…..we have been dealt that hand. ND IS PROBABLY beatable….but with two major ACL injuries, we did not have the Horsepower (or whatever else you would call it) to make a solid run at them.

    Still a GREAT SEASON….

I’ll admit to my ignorance when it comes to the women’s basketball, but Muffet McGraw? Really? I had to look that up. I thought I was missing out on a good joke.

If I was going with nicknames, I don’t think I go with one that could double as a porn alias.

Muffet is actually her legal name (really) so I’m guessing her nickname is “Quickdraw” or “Tug”. Then we’re back to…

Anyway, big congrats to Coach Moore. What an amazing job.

Apologies again, but then I have to ask again… Muffet? Really? Wasn’t that the name of the robotic dog thingy on Battlestar Galactiga?

Edit: Looked it up. That was Moppet. Close though.

Syracuse beat Clemson so State will be playing the Orange tomorrow at 11. The Pack beat the Orange by 8 or so earlier in the year at Reynolds.

Game tied 14-14 with 11:12 left in the first half. State led the entire time so far until Syracuse tied it up a minute or so ago.

State up by three with 12:21 left. They lost power at the Coliseum briefly (happened last night, too), and it takes 20 minutes for the lights to come back up entirely. So, we have a nice long break now, right as State got the momentum back. (sigh)

State up by 13 at the under-8 TO, but Gatling has been taken to the locker room with a knee injury after scoring career-high 28 pts (if I heard correctly).

Ugh this is why we can’t have nice things. Which one of you guys pissed off an old gypsy lady?

68-58 State with 3:49 left. We’re definitely missing Gatling. The knee gods certainly aren’t happy with us.
