    BJD95…ok…let’s go all out.
    TWO ACC tournaments.
    8-15 for the NIT.
    1-7 for the NCAA.
    (#1 gets the bye)

    think about it.
    not too long, though.

Even better. I seriously like that idea.

I have a somewhat related idea, that I posted on the KSK Pro Bowl LiveBlog.

Instead of the Pro Bowl format, you still have a game in Hawaii the week before the Super Bowl. The two worst teams in the NFL square off. Winner gets the first overall pick, loser picks…32nd.

It would also be fun to pair the ACC with, say, the Southern Conference – and have European soccer-style promotion and relegation. You could also have a loser’s bracket in the 8-15 ACCT. The team who loses all 3? They get relegated in favor of the SoCon champ. Mens’ basketball only, of course.

    ok.
    i’m still playing.
    for the 8-15: reverse seeding.
    15 plays 14. 13 plays 12. 11 plays 10. 9 plays 8. Monday.
    1 winner plays 2 winner. 3 plays 4. Wednesday.
finals on Friday. NIT the next Monday on home court.

… OK …. some of ya’ll will understand how this ‘fits’ this thread…
and some of ya’ll may not….

A professor of mathematics sent a fax to his wife. It read:

“Dear wife, You must realize that you are 54 years old and I have certain needs which you are no longer able to satisfy. I am otherwise happy with you as a wife, and I sincerely hope you will not be hurt or offended to learn that by the time you receive this letter, I will be at the Grand Hotel with my 18-year-old teaching assistant. I’ll be home before midnight. – Your Husband”

When he arrived at the hotel, there was a faxed letter waiting for him that read as follows:

“Dear Husband. You too are 54 years old, and by the time you receive this, I will be at the Breakwater Hotel with the 18-year-old pool boy. Being the brilliant mathematician that you are, you can easily appreciate the fact that 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18. Don’t wait up.”

2 ACCTs: 1 for Duke, UNC Syracuse and Louisville.

    The other for everybody else.

Maybe Bruton Smith could combine televising a tri-oval NASCAR race with the ACC tournament to drive the dagger in even deeper?

Enough of this logic stuff, VA. You’re telling me Bigfoot and aliens don’t exist?! 🙂

Regarding the NCAA discussion and “1 win in acc tournament and we’re in”…I could see that scenario playing out. But I see it differently:

We have 6 games left. In order to feel OK about an at large bid – we must win at least 5 of those games.

Where it gets interesting for us is if we win 3 of our last 5 and advance to tourney final or if we go 10-8 and lose our second game in tourney. (We would have a very interesting selection Sunday in that case.

The bubble is very volatile. In last 2 years the line has cut off @ #51. In last dance card (before Clemson debacle) we were #50.
