Today is National Signing Day for the football class of 2016. Just wondering how everyone on this board feels about our 2016 class and prospects for the future. ESPN has our class ranked as the 10th best class in the ACC. Out of 14 teams that puts us in the bottom half. Rivals and Scout has us ranked 42 and 43 respectively. Coach DD has talked about closing the gap between NC State and Clemson / Fla State, but if you can’t recruit with them, you will not catch them. I’m not a big “star” guy, and I do like the way DD closed on some recruits, but we are still in the same recruiting pattern as always, normally ranked in the 35 yo 45 range. We are building depth and that is good, but at what quality. You’ll have to coach them up coach, let’s hope good player development will produce winning results.

Happy to get a 4 star wide receiver. We really needed one. Thaddeus Moss is going to be really good as well.

Here’s an article about ACC rankings in general and the dominance of FSU/Clemson. Can’t remember if this was already posted on here or not.

    Interesting tidbit:

You can see exactly why Florida State and Clemson have opened up a gaping lead on the rest of the Atlantic. The Seminoles are on pace to have the No. 1 class in the ACC in all seven seasons under Jimbo Fisher. Clemson has turned it on under Dabo Swinney, too. The Tigers have five top-13 classes in the past five years after having only two in the previous five classes. Now, look at the next-highest Atlantic team. That would be NC State, behind five teams from the Coastal. Louisville has had an average class rank of No. 7 in its three years in the ACC so it’s not as if they are a Top 25 recruiting program, either.

While reading about Harbaugh’s dog and pony show at Michigan I learned that “former professional wrestler Ric Flair revealed that he signed a letter of intent to play for the Wolverines in 1968”. Who knew?

According to Pick Six Previews, of the Bottom 10 P5 teams in recruiting, 4 are from the ACC. 3 of those in the Atlantic Division. Quite the recruiting disparity between the top and bottom of the Atlantic – best in the country to worst in the country all in one division.
Also, UAB with a better recruiting class than Syracuse and BC. That’s UAB of the we-don’t-have-a-football-program fame.
