BJD95, regarding your comment “And sadly, I didn’t hear any public demands from the powers that be at NC State, either.”, that isn’t to say that demands weren’t made. I’ve seen Debbie’s email responses to irate fans over the Wofford game and it was clear that pointed conversations with the ACC office were forthcoming. Not making the demands publicly was a smart move because they tend to put the ACC office in the position that by giving in they look weak, so they’d be more inclined to deny them.
As for Karl, please DO let the door hit you in the a$s on the way out.

Did ACC Commish JS also recommend to the NCAA that they also banish Hess from any level NCAA sanctioned game? THAT would be news and demonstrated leadership, even if the Power-5 Conferences already plan to circumvent the NCAA itself in the near future… Hess should still be entitled to earn a living as a referee however, and I recommend middle-school girls & boys games or Rec-leagues in the Raleigh area…

1. More Commissioners follow the ACC lead…
2. Hess sits around the house.. thinking about his Sh%t…
3. That turns into a “depression”… according to one doctor…
4. No $$ = No Friends == No P === more depression ….
5. Wife divorces him … Wife gets 50% – Wife’s lawyer gets 30%…
6. Hess goes to rehab on SS …
7. Comes out clean and starts singing second tenor in the choir at the Baptist church…In the meantime, Johnny retires…
and the new ACC commissioner is a Baptist too…Seeing that Brother Karl has confessed and is truly repentant,
the new Commissioner gives Hess an exclusive contract… zero tolerance… half his old rate… half his old schedule… can’t work for any other conference…Ticket sales go up 10% – 15% across the conference!
The New Commissioner looks like a Saint or Prophet…BY THE START OF THE 2018-19 SEASON MAX…
HESS will be back in the PNC !!… ’cause that will be the first place they send Brother Karl …

I know there are a lot of quote posters partial to Churchill, Napoleon etc., etc. on SFN so help us out. Did any of those guys have anything similar to or more eloquent than “Don’t assume the other guy is a racist when he simply thinks you are an ass—-.” Racism seems to be the unfortunate catchall for the myriad of human transactions gone bad when it’s simply people of all colors acting like —-heads.

It’s been a while since I posted, just got tired of some of the junk I was seeing posted but this one drew my ire and I have to reply.
First, that is one of the most racist things I’ve heard in a VERY long time. I know several Liberty grads and not a one of them is any level of racist that I know of. Could they be harboring tendencies, yep, it’s hard to know the true heart of any man. But all are upstanding members of their communities. One is the Fire Chief of a major metro area and I know for a fact he is not.
Second, I have five thousand dollars that says you can’t prove what you said. Lay down your money and prove it. And btw, “a lot” to me means you know at least 10, and EVERYONE of them would have to fit the paradigm you described. I know more than that, and not one of them fits what you said. More than that, there are multitudes of people who do not or may not “have an open mind” by YOUR definition or may not have any non-white friends. Neither of those things makes someone a racist. I would venture another five thousand dollar bet that you would consider anyone who has conservative views to be not open minded. Let me remind you that in and of itself makes YOU not open minded by refusing to allow someone to have views that differ from yours.
Third, to me this is race baiting plain and simple and should not be tolerated. It would be like me saying I know “a lot” of NCCU grads, which I do, and …

I disagree. There is absolutely no schadenfreude over Karl’s Hess being removed from the ACC crew. His removal is not a misfortune that befell him. Rather it was a long overdue termination of a piss poor basketball official.

I highly doubt that there are no racist Liberty grads or that all of them are racist. However the original post would imply that Hess is not racist since he is a Liberty grad. I can’t say for sure as racist and dick can be interchangeable to an extent but if I was getting I would take the over/under that he is.
Hey we’re getting a little off line here. We ALL have a little racism, intolerance, and or stupidity in us. Some of you have tipped your hat in that direction already. You should at least keep folks guessing. King Karl definitely hated people of color (other than blue), his motto was: if you ain’t blue then screw you…..but his worst problem was power and control. He didn’t want to give that up or be told he was wrong. We should rejoice in his exit, but don’t for a minute think his influence or friends are gone. Red is still a color that several bigots with a whistle are not fond of….just sayin’

Sorry, I was unnecessarily inflammatory there. I said “stereotypical” because I do believe there’s plenty of evidence to support the assertion that Jerry Falwell himself is a bigot. Thusly, a “stereotypical” Falwell University grad would, more often than not, harbor some pretty unsavory beliefs, having been attracted to a school because it was run by a TV preacher.
I do NOT think that all, or even MOST conservative, evangelical Christians are bigoted or racist. For instance, I wouldn’t say that about Mike Huckabee at all. And he’s probably even more conservative. Falwell just always struck me as pond scummy.
So, I do sincerely apologize for being loose with my language. I really did just want to make fun of Karl Hess and Jerry Fallwell (and maybe people who think that everything Jerry Falwell has ever said on the teevee box is awesome), and nothing more.
I just really f-cking hate Karl Hess and let my vitriol carry me away. It surprised me not one bit that he had this kind of bile within him, and I am very happy that Karma finally bit him in the ass.
I guess a former Liberty member of the womens baketball team who is white and married to an AA blows this theory to pieces…particlarly when her Dad was the women’ coach at Liberty. Last time I looked she was an assistant at a lilly white institution named Georgetown.

BJD, while I wouldn’t agree with your conclusions about Falwell, I understand that his tactics and choice of words often gave people reason to question wonder. Either way I appreciate your comments. And I couldn’t be happier with the way things have turned out for Hess.
