After reading multiple accounts… it’s pretty clear now that the “Repeal” was well thought out, or not, as the original Bill….

    I mean, come on….

If the Repeal passed… both sides would have been instantly “free” to pass new ordinances and acts that would have been essentially the same as, OR worst than, the originals. Neither side offered any assurances, nor did the original Repeal contain any language, otherwise.

The Repeal was never intended to be a true compromise…. both sides getting and giving up some things so that the issue could reasonably lay at peace for a least a few years.

The Repeal was doomed to fail from its inception. The ensuing publicity and controversy further harmed political relationships between the Leaders of The People. Moreover, The People just continue SMH in dismay and disbelief with no end to the Great Stupidity in Raleigh in sight.

The People have had enough of the bloody, divisive Sh#tshow…. and need to see the Leaders of The People working together for the good of ALL the citizens.

It’s all in who has the podium. Like the debate over NC Congressional districts – both parties have played that game to the determent of the state as a whole. I also will not defend Pat (or Roy for that matter) – it is all political theater and designed to attain and keep power.

    + 1 … exactly
