Until last year, I ran the free stuff. Now that I do banking online, I don't mind paying something. Highstick, with Kaspersky (I think Consumer Reports has it No. 5), do you get the anti-virus package or the more expensive security suite? With rebates, the antivirus is free at Fry's this week, the security suite would be less than $40.
Figured I'd solicit help from all the wonderful technical people who deal with this stuff. I've been looking at anti-virus downloads. I was running Total Defense Manager, but it updated so rarely that it worried me, so I figured I would switch. Consumer Reports ranks GData as the best one, with Avast the best free one. Right now, I'm likely to go with GData.
