NC State (37-21) will take the field at 1pm today to battle Coastal Carolina. A win would force a final elimination game to be played at 6pm on Monday (weather permitting).

    Pack pitching did us in, but no hating on Coastal from me. Hope they do well vs LSU, making us look better, knowing we were one strike away from the supers.

    I guess our demise in the regionals could have been worse…we could have given up a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th of a shutout to be eliminated…

    FYI for anyone wondering. Coastal just knocked off Florida in their first CWS game. No hate from me. Just thinking of what could have been if we had taken care of business.

    One strike away for us. and now if Coastal can beat TCU in the championship game, they are in the final 4 of the CWS. After they again eliminated LSU, Florida, Texas Tech. Surely could have been us. And we handed them the worst loss at 8-1 in the regionals in Raleigh.

    if they beat TCU they are in a best 2 of 3 for the championship. No final 4 in this championship.

    Look. CC is a much better club than our good guys where..period. Man for man..
    .They came up here, on the road, suffered weather, holed up in a motel and won.

    There is no what could have been. Stop, please, at least for this championship year.

    Yogi, my final 4 meant the final 4 teams left, which they indeed won in, and are headed to championship. And quite aware it is the best out of 3 games. Went to the Raleigh regionals As for what could have been, that would be a matter of opinion. Ours differs. Weather hindered both teams.

    They were one strike from being eliminated by the Pack. But none the less the national baseball champion came from the Raleigh regional. And we did hand that 8-1 thumping on them, with Gilbert pitching. So hats off to the Pack, for a great season, and another promising one for next year. Congrats to CC!
