Wolfpack Rap at ACC Media Day

Today is ACC Media Day down at ESPNU in Charlotte. All 15 teams send two players and the head coach (well except for Louisville where Rick Pitino thinks that the ACC media may ask him something besides pure basketball questions) to be interviewed by ESPN as well as other media outlets. Discussions between all players and coaches seemed to center around the mess at Louisville.

In discussing the role of the head coach, Coach K said:

coachk

Later on, in a discussion between Jay Bilas, Jim Boeheim, Coach K, and Roy Williams, Williams said that as a head coach “you are expected do things but you are not in charge of, in some cases academically, especially, you’re told to stay away from that. We have an academic support services, you don’t get involved. You tell them when to go to class. …And if something happens, then all of a sudden you are responsible.”

Interesting perspectives.

I would be remiss if I didn’t show everyone the rap sampling that BeeJay Anya and Cat Barber did. As usual, the ACC Media Day rarely disappoints.

After all of this, I have two words to say:

BEAT CLEMSON!!!

If I were Chancellor at EweNC (and I’m not and won’t be) I think I would have Roy come in for a “come to Jesus” meeting about what responsibility entails — beginning with the meaning of the word. He’s not responsible, he’s “in charge” of what he wants to be in charge of without the burden of responsibility.

Oh the other hand nobody seems to be responsible over there. Not the Chancellor, not the BOT and not the BOG. The only people responsible for anything are the academic support people and they are responsible for keeping athletes eligible at any cost.
