#Pack16 picks up a commitment

While it may feel as though this year’s football team may currently be stuck in a middle gear, coach Doeren and the football staff continue to press forward on the recruiting trail and attempt to stock up on talent that will pay dividends in future years. Yesterday, the #Pack16 grew stronger with a commitment from 6’2″, 320 pound defensive tackle, Shug Frazier.

Frazier is rated as a three-star or a four-star talent depending upon your preferred recruiting service. Regardless of the ratings that you prefer, Frazier picked the Pack over offers from LSU, Miami, Florida, Tennessee and UNC-CHeats.

We do not know if he will enroll early or join the program this summer.

It could end up being a BIG year for the Pack along the defensive front as State continues to recruit North Carolina high school product, five-star Dexter Lawrence as well as four-star Amani Bledsoe.

We expect Frazier, Lawrence and Bledsoe to all be in Raleigh this weekend for the Wolfpack’s battle with Clemson on Saturday.

He also had an offer from Alabama. A great pick up!

When evaluating college football recruiting at a school like NC State, I like seeing the kids that have offers from the big time programs. This is the kind of list I like to see.

What always concerned me most about TOB’s recruiting is that a lot of times we were about the only Power 5 school that offered. While that doesn’t mean you still won’t find a diamond in the rough, it’s hard to believe that everyone missed on them.

Nice pick-up, and hope to see more of the same. Buford is GA powerhouse, just outside of Atlanta and usually is in HS top 25 schools, with several GA state championships.

Neal Auer, former Pack TE is one of the top assistants there and should be a great pipeline to the Pack.
