Weekend in Raleigh – twists & turns of football recruiting

Looks like Coach Doeren and staff have put together a huge football recruiting weekend to coincide with Florida State’s visit to Raleigh this weekend. The weather is going to be nice and the fans and atmosphere will be great on Saturday…so, things should show well for the Wolfpack. Since State has proven to be able to hold its own against the Seminoles over the last ~15 years then why not go for it!?

We’ve heard that State may have something like 100 unofficial visitors in for the afternoon. Can that be right? It sounds like a huge number…but Coach Doeren and staff seem to be exceptionally well organized and focused so, why not get as many bodies as possible into the experience of a picturesque 3:30 game in the fall?

One twist that looks to be developing will be the presence of Michigan commit, Darian Roseboro. Because of Roseboro’s proximity (North Carolina) and position as the best defensive player in the state this year we have followed his recruiting a little more closely on SFN. We encourage you to click here to get caught up on things and highlight where we noted weeks ago that this one was probably not done yet — and that was before Brady Hoke moved himself even more firmly on the hotseat at Michigan.

Why should you be spending more time on our improving message forum community (please click here)? One reason would be to get a good jump on this kind of information that Greywolf posted earlier this week about vistors this weekend:

Sure, a few of these guys may be coming to see FSU, but there weren’t this number of top quality RB’s at FSU games in 2010 and 2012. This list is just the RB’s who have announced they are coming. There will be a gang of other position players there as well. I hope they are there when we blow the top of the locker room after a big upset. 😉

Reggie Gallaspy, Southern Guilford
Nyheim Hines, Garner
Marcus Marshall, Raleigh Millbrook
Bryce Love, Wake Forest
Rocky Reid, Concord (Tennessee commit)
Johnny Frasier, Princeton (FSU soft commit)

Getting Gallasby and Hines would be sweet. Thinking of getting Marshall along with Gallasby and Hines is insane. I may be nuts but I can see a place for all 3 — RB, Slot Receiver and WR.

Go Pack!

I have also heard that Emanuel McGirt may be in attendance on Saturday. Isn’t it about time for McGirt to embrace his destiny in Raleigh and go ahead and make it official?

Let’s hope that he leads the way this weekend just like he would be doing on our future offensive line and helps open the flood gate to finishing off the 2015 class with 4 or 5 super studs for the Wolfpack!

Good article in Gboro News and Record about Galaspy this AM. He has a list of about 6 schools, two ACC, Duke and State. He is having a hell of a senior season this year. A power runner who has improved his quickness. I’m hoping I get to continue to pull for him for many more years.

“Looks like Coach Doeren and staff have put together a huge football recruiting weekend to coincide with Florida State’s visit to Raleigh this weekend.” Sarcasm alert: Isn’t this the same kind of stuff TOB had for recruits? It’s no wonder Wisconsin was loaded with talent while Doeren was Recruiting Coordinator. Anybody not excited about the future of Wolfpack football? (Not you two, ’13’ and ’44’)

    Pack85EE,
You are so right about Gallaspy (if not so right about the Pack giving up long runs. Just poking fun at you) 😉

“I’m looking for a team that I’m comfortable with that’s family-oriented,” Gallaspy said, “where I can spend three or four years and be comfortable on campus, off campus, in the classroom, outside the classroom.”
