Red Light is Back On, Early Football Signees

After a rough 3/4 of a season, Coach D and staff undoubtably have their work cut out for them to improve the team and fight off schools to hold #Pack14 his first recruiting class together. Yesterday was a great sign that the staff is still grinding and recruiting hard as we saw a flurry of #Pack14 guys sign their papers to enroll in the spring. This is great for a few reasons, it allows these kids to count towards last year’s class thus opening up more room in 2014 and it also gets them into spring practice which puts them light years ahead of the guys who show up in the summer.

We’ve covered a few of these guys before but Terronne Prescod, OL, chose State over a flurry of offers including his hometown favorite Auburn. Bo Hine, WR from Charlotte, in the end chose the Pack over Nebraska and has been instrumental in recruiting for #Pack14. BJ Hill, DE from Oakboro NC, chose State over UNC & ECU.

I don’t expect these guys to be the last of the signees. Be on the lookout to potentially see at least 4 more early enrollees including Tony Adam (C), Jalan McClendon (QB), Kalen McCain (S/DB), and the most recent verbal, Stephen Louis (WR).

Prescod let loose a flurry of tweets to show his excitement and also included a few of these pictures.

Prescod also tweeted out this shot of his fellow signees

Any word on if we will land Kentavius Street, the 5star DE from Greenville? Heard that kid is a BEAST!!!

Excited to see Bo & McClendon take over in 2015, I have high hopes for these two players!

If all the guys you mentioned do early enroll it will make for a good Red/White spring game. The QB out of Charlotte might not be polished enough to play right away but that shouldn’t stop him from climbing to #2 on depth chart.

Prescod might be the best freshman next year. He’s huge, fast and physical. Pick a spot other then C and we could use him now.

Good news! Recruiting is likely the only good football news we will get this week.

Great news! While we are struggling this season, this is actually a nice recruiting pitch to the HS kids. Come in early, practice in the spring, and you can be on the field in the fall. Spots are open and yours for the taking.

While talking about it, let’s hope McLendon fares better than the last McLendon we had. Although for one season there, TA provided many exciting moments – if we can translate that into 4 seasons from this McLendon…….

    The QB is McClendon.
