CWS Video Wrap Up

Nothing Earth shattering here.  Just wanted to make sure everyone got the chance to see this video courtesy of the NC State Athletics youtube channel.  It was posted after I put up this morning’s SFN wrap up and I didn’t want to bury it in the comments section of that.

Plus, now I have an inexplicable urge to punch Brett Austin in the chest protector….

Also, I’ve got some unused cat memes that need to go out to BJD95 (no, we’re not gay for each other…not that there’s anything wrong with that….)

And in non-baseball news (yes, such a thing really does exist)…

Class of ’14 safety Dexter Wright of Hunt HS, the young man whose handwritten recruiting letter ended up on the interwebz and caused at least a minor stir, committed to the Pack yesterday.

Personal touch not so bad after all I suppose.

Wuf….I tried to get us a “Baseball Thread” early in the season…maybe they’ll listen and appoint you as the moderator…Good job this year…I just ran out of mojo to give you!

Skye Bolt…sounds like a cheap male stripper!

Heels mount a charge in the 9th and put a run on the board to avoid the shutout, but nothing more. UCLA eliminates the Heels 4-1 and moves on to the national championship series to face Miss. State.

    Thanks for the “closure” video.

All is well that ends well. The smurfs back to their hole. Thank you, Bruins.

No one is talking about PJ Hairston over here? I figured that would be the headlining article when I came here today.

Nice video and excellent cat memes. also, great news about Wright committing. Doeren and his staff seem to have a similar mojo to Gottfried and his in terms of recruiting. Hope he can put it together on the field as well.

    NC State needs BALLERS

    Dexter Wright = BALLER

    sounds simple enough to me.

Sidenote, any word on our Baseball recruiting class coming in? Anyone worth noting??

^^ Could not agree more! And, this is a must read for those of us needing to be even more disgusted with “them”….cheating Aholes: http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/06/20/2977833/unc-ch-will-be-monitored-not-sanctioned.html

FREE DO-OVER phone in class for “Graduates” that won’t have any effect on their already falsified grades! Priceless!

Here’s a link to the baseball signees for next year http://perfectgame.org/College/CollegeCommitments.aspx. Just pick NC State and the list will pop up. I haven’t seen any of these kids play and don’t know if they were drafted this year, their likilihood of playing college ball, etc.

It will be interesting to see how the recruits compete with the rising class for a starting positions next year. Starting pitching and defense up the middle are likely set but first base and third base are up for grabs, along with a corner outfield slot (no-brainer that Fincher moves over to CF).

Will Carlos get any starts at first? (half-joking here boys, settle down). But I could see Armstrong as a possible 1B candidate which would open up the other outfield corner. Maybe Morgan or the recruit Vernon (listed as being bigger than Clyde) will take over at 3B.

Lots of time and no CC transfers committed yet that I know of. What this year’s team accomplished should help future recruiting. Hopefully another lasting testament to how big of a season these boys gave us this year. Is it February yet?

Wufpacker…thanks for your constant stream of info and valuble insight on all things State baseball this year. Enjoyed it.

    Now to this:

“No one is talking about PJ Hairston over here? I figured that would be the headlining article when I came here today.”

Couldn’t agree more. Here is where the, lack of a better term, “collapse” of StateFansNation’s forum page potentially comes into play, IMHO.

Previously, when news like this broke concerning “the flagship” one could always come here to find all the latest, but inexplicably the news took 12+ hours (unless I missed something) to make its way either to the mother ship or its forums page.

Hopefully, it’s a one time occurrence attributed to our CWS hangover.

    Go Pack!

And the cat memes were a BIG bonus!

    Dexter, What up Big Time?!!

Seriously, I’m already looking forward to kickoff. Not that I think we’ll have that great of a year, just looking forward to what I think will be a cool new vibe to the whole FB program. Let the Dave Doeren era begin…

Can’t help but think that would have been us in Ucla’s position right now had Turner’s eighth inning ball cleared the wall… The Bruins definitely benefitted from the quick turnaround for the Holes. Ahh, had that only been us! But, great year; looking forward to the next…

    Either
    SFN or CHN.
    State Fans Nation
    or Carolina Hate Nation.
    so says my 11-y-o nephew.
emphasize one and eliminate the other.
    our choice.

  15. blpack 06/22/2013 at 10:13 PM #

SFN & CHN, be good at both. Summertime and livin’ is easy.

What? A hotdog without mustard? A martini without an olive? A porch without a swing? Are you kidding me? If you truly love the Wolfpack, I mean truly, you also find great joy in any misery that might fall upon those cheating Aholes from over there. Where did your nephew’s parents go to school? Just wondering.

If Rodon makes the show do you think they will make him closer?

  18. redisgood 06/24/2013 at 1:00 PM #

Man, with Rodon’s strength, stamina, array of pitches, and terrific command, any team that tries to make him a closer deserves to be kicked out of the league.

By the way, for those that may not be paying attention, DD is absolutely kicking ass on the recruiting trail. What he is doing in his 1st year is remarkable. Four recruits on the weekend, a 4 star this morning. Up to #19 on Rivals live rankings site.

Sorry Wufpacker, didn’t want to go off topic. I just couldn’t get the forum to work. Kind of frustrating.

And a 3 star just added.

Edit: make that two more 3 stars just added. ranking is up to #16 nationally.

I had never followed Wolfpack baseball until last years team and obviously this year. I can’t believe what I have been missing in college baseball! I find the games incredibly entertaining (and frustrating, NC State Shit right?). I for one would like to congratulate our team on their accomplishments this year and hope for a very bright future. Can’t wait until next year!

Side note, as redisgood has pointed out, the football recruiting is really taking off. Hopefully Street will commit soon and we will have a great class. Also fingers crossed for Prescod and Middleton, who will be deciding soon. I can’t help but think we can get another 4 star or two (after Street) judging by the quantity of quality players we are going after. Only question is will we have enough room for the kids who wait, we are already up to 17 with 21-22 likely coming by end of July ( if not more). Great job DD and staff, if by any luck we have a good year, 8-9 wins and bowl win, then we could crush it in next years recruiting…we are already laying groundwork with some top 2015 prospects.

Staff uses all tools available in recruiting. But also worth noting that tob’s first class was one of his strongest.

However, I believe that this staff is much better at recruiting than previous one. Much better.
