Given BJD’s recent history with game threads I think it is a good idea to mix things up. I think we win this one by 13. The first half stays close but we pull away in the second. This starts our run to finish 11-7 in the conference.

    We haven’t shown anything on the road in the ACC to make me believe we should be favored today, much less actually show up, play and win. 11-7 would be a horrible underachievement for this team, but it is probably about the best we can hope for.

    What I’m really looking for this team to show is 40 minutes of focus. 40 minutes of paying attention to the details, taking care of the basketball, taking the proper angles on defense, moving without the ball on offense and finally realizing that being an upper echelon team takes relentless effort.

    There are only two semi-acceptable (never condoned) losses left on the schedule: @UNC, @FSU. I’m hoping we start getting some good bounces, and our FLOOR is 6-2 over the last eight. I know we can win every game left, but that is asking a good deal….12-6 would be SPECTACULAR….GO PACK!!

    You know – I haven’t paniced about this team yet. I don’t know why but I feel like this team is going to just click soon and the last stop will be the final four. Maybe its just blind love for the Pack. I think the diversity will make this team better buy providing a stronger bench when it’s thruly needed in the ACCT and NCAAT. Zo on the bench with a injury can help his game by making him see the game with a little different perspective.It all starts at Clemson today. Come out and make a statement then I will feel better and not panic.

    The Pack will win comfortably today. I feels it.

    If you need to kill some time, please join me in watching the EPL soccer Pack (Everton) take on the Wal-Marters (Manchester United) on FoxSoccer in 10 minutes. Everton started the season with a home win over the BPL Holes, and will try to complete the most unlikely double (as the regular Pack will do in CH soon).

    I hope you’re right, sir.

    It’s not over guys (and gals) – long season, and all that. I know it’s tough to quash the hype and pre-season crap – but it’s just that – crap. Doesn’t matter. And I’m sure nobody feels worse about losing more than the players.

    If they can just pull together now, many great things can be accomplished. So we won’t win the ACC Regular Season … Yawn. Just make the tournament and see what happens. Better yet, win the ACC Tournament. I’d consider that a huge success and something to be wildly happy about. We’re coming up on 30 years without an ACC Tournament title. Let that one sink in.

    These guys can still accomplish a lot. I hope it starts today.

    Once again, those of us in the DC area must watch an ACC Network game on the computer. There must be an unwritten rule that states that anytime State has an ACC Network televised game, Maryland must also have a game scheduled. Maryland can’t leave the ACC soon enough.

    I am interested to see how we play on the road in a game we should most certainly win. I expect it to be close but hopefully the bounces start to go our way.

    As others have mentioned, still a long way to go, and plenty of time to have a great year. But another WTF loss or two and the season can really start to get out of hand. I think they all know that now that we aren’t even ranked.

    Everton playing like monkeyshit. Let’s hope not a harbinger for the day. 2013 has been full of bad mojo for me, though. Blech. Ready for 2014 already.

    11-7 is sufficient to have us in good position for the tourney. That’s really all I care about. Basketball is a tournament sport.

    A win today is a must, totally agree. We will get it, I am confident. They had a shittier Thursday than we did!

    Yes, but we are on the road and to date have played like utter crap on the road in ACC play. So, time for that to change.

    As for it being a tourney sport, yes it is. But it would also be nice for the team, that is loaded with talent, to develop a bit of a championship mentality. You gotta put in the work. You cat just expect for it to magically happen when the going gets tough.

    I have waited along time to have faith that we could win it all. I remember our 83 team watched every minute of our great run ,I felt then the same way I feel now. We are very good and when we peak we will be great. I for one think this team is far more talented than any we have had since David and company.

    This is a talented group, yes. But (as with pretty much all this season’s considered) with significant weak points and a definitive fatal flaw (only one real lowpost player, since Calvin is more of a SF playing PF).

    Developing WBS as a second primary ballhandler will really help this team, as long as Zo comes back and comes back as himself. Before that development, we had two fatal flaws.

    I am glad to trade 1 or 2 regular season wins (we might have beat UVA and/or Miami if Zo doesn’t get hurt) in order to improve the team for March like we have.

    Correct once Brown is back we are much better than before his injury reminds me of 83 when Whittenburg was out.

    I know it all starts today for a new beginning but it is very hard for me to swallow this team staying focused for a run of consecutive wins after and if we win today. I sure hope so and the schedule will help but you are asking for certain players on this team to all of a sudden show something they have not for the next 8 games.

    I hope I am very wrong here.

    Rick- really good thinking. I’m with you in that BJD is just really bad luck, which is the LAST thing we need right now.

    Totally agree with TurfPack. When this team figures out how to play 40 minutes and combines that with the talent they have in a season where anybody can win the NCAA’s, I say look out. We’re only a cheap basket or two from being 9-1 and 20-3, which would put us in the top 5. Nowhere close to panic time.

    I hate to say this, but do think some of this not closing out games late points to coaching and I hope that’s being worked on.

    Starts with this one. Virtually commonplace for Road teams to lose this year across the land of big time college BBall. Win this, get nearly a weeks rest to work the kinks out and see how it goes forward starting now.
