#RollPack on ESPN Gameday

A fantastic feature on ESPN’s College Gameday yesterday with Will Privette and CJ Leslie that you’ve got to see linked here.

Thank goodness that this situation worked out to where Privette ended up safe, happy and even an advocate for allowing people make their own decisions in life and be responsible for the consequences of their decisions.

I’m hoping that the fact that a guy in a wheel chairs was able to be safe in the middle of all of that chaos will serve to squelch the ‘fun Nazis’ that try to suppress fans from these types of celebrations.

In case you missed it earlier in the week, you can click here to see Privette and Leslie’s appearance on NBC’s Today Show.

Watched it this morning. Great story and two great representatives of NCSU. This put a punctuation mark on a great if not “Classic” game. Whether the game was classic or not might be in dispute, this ending was without a doubt. So proud to be a State grad. Go Pack.

These guys are representing the university so well. Such a complete transformation from a public perspective for Mr. Leslie. You just can’t buy this kind of exposure. Well done!

So THIS is what it’s like to get positive press. First time we’ve gotten it on a regular basis since I went to school in 1989…

What gets covered by the media and how it gets covered can have a huge impact on the image of a college program. Having worked for ESPN, coach Gott clearly understands this.

Gott’s connection to ESPN and the media may actually be one of the biggest reasons for our success (well mainly from recruiting and exposure) along with excellent asst. coaches. The positive media relations virtually changed overnight. There are still plenty of Toolbags out there from the media but when was the last time HWSNBN name was mentioned? Or the lack of scoring ability of offense? Or slow paced offense? Motivation? Lack team work? On and on…..

I had 2 conversations just this morning with diehard Hole fans/alumni and everywhere I ago its the same conversation. The Wolfpack is the strongest team in the league on talent alone. They (as are most of us) are just floored at the drastic positive turn around has done over the past 2 years. I’m just saying we are no longer just a lucky team with a few 1 and done show boats. We have a legitimate top 25 program.

“There are still plenty of Toolbags out there from the media … “

Come now, no one could ever confuse Jeff Goodman for being as useful or practical as a ‘toolbag’.

Good win over the SC Trade School. Team showing some killer instinct to finish out games. They will need all they can muster. Great atmosphere at PNC.

“What gets covered by the media and how it gets covered can have a huge impact on the image…”

It’s too bad many have a blind eye to this.

“…an advocate for allowing people make their own decisions in life and be responsible for the consequences of their decisions.”

He must have missed the memo too.
