In case you did not know, NC State Athletics has a YouTube channel that usually has some great stuff on it. I am one of the channels 614 subscribers and get email notifications whenever something new hits the channel.

Well, yesterday something new hit their channel that was FANTASTIC when the Athletics Department uploaded the videos that were used in last Friday’s Hall of Fame festivities. I hope that you will do yourself a favor and spend some time watching the videos whenever you find a few minutes. I am including David Thompson’s video in this entry since we are marching towards “Primetime with the Pack” on this Friday night and because we recently had a David Thompson entry on the blog (please click here to read).

All of these videos are terrific but the one about Jimmy V will bring tears to your eyes. He was a tower of strength regardless of the obstacles he faced. Our mantra everyday of our lives should be “Never ever give up. Never ever give up!”

Can you imagine the audacity of a man who inherits a program and on day 1 tells his players he’s going to win a NC and they’re welcome to come along for the ride?!

Anyone see Herb doing that??? Lol.

Thing is, he knew it. He believed it just as much as I believe in the pavement beneath my feet. That’s just one of the many unique qualities of the most charismatic man I’ve known of.

So many valuable ‘life lessons’ have unfolded within the NC State Athletics Department through the years that some of the best management books in history could’ve been written.

How could Jimmy V ever have been expected to compete with Duke and UNC.

What kind of people accept that their lot in life is to be a loser and to be 3rd best?

If Lee Fowler were around we could ask him.

Those are some groovy duds DT is wearing in that post-championship pep rally.

It was good to hear Wally Ausley’s voice. As a youngster, I lived and died by his broadcasts. He was so precise, I would act out the games on my nerf hoop. Good times.
