Preseason #6. As one who lived in Raleigh in 74 and was a student in 83, I can honestly say that it has been a long time coming. Yes, I am a bit older now, but the thrill of WolfPack BB has remained with me and I cannot wait for this season to begin. Excuse me while I wipe away my tears – so happy.

^ I didn’t become a fan until ’92 when we were setting and breaking school records for losses in a season…I’m not used to State being pre-season ranked in the top 6 of the conference, let alone the nation!

Yes, 84! I remember those days as well. I remember being on Hillsboroe St. after State beat UCLA and Marquette for the N.C. in ’74. Oh, those were the days! Could it happen again? I think we are on our way. Go Pack!!!!

Wait what????!!!! Why isn’t AZ being covered?! Outrageous that those rednecks from State are preseason #6 a year after I turned down their job and $$$!!!

My mentor was a basketball God and even he couldn’t do that there…..Ahhhhhhhhh.

Why on earth would any NC State supporter be calling Sean Miller names? I respect Sean and Archie for all they did for NC State BB. If I was Sean I would not have left AZ for NC State when we hired Gott. If we had wanted Sean we should have hired him before Lowe.

^^ Second This – You’re not focusing your angst on the right coach in Arizona…

While I love the exposure there’s no way we should be preseason #6. Can we be that good by the end of season? Possibly, but we lost a couple key players and until these new guys prove themselves – well, you just never know. Maybe I’m just a little jaded by the many (ok, maybe not so many) highly rated players we’ve brought in over the years that never quite lived up to the hype.

I agree, triad – I think our young-uns will live up to the hype, but not right out of the gate ! That’s putting WAY too much pressure on them… Can we be a Top 6 team by March ? That would be fantastic !!! But I can’t believe we’re there already.

Let’s give ’em time to grow, people….

There have been years when NCSU was ranked 6th in North Carolina at the beginning of the year, and that was pretty optimistic, because we were so bad that we’d probably lose to Davidson and Charlotte if we’d played ’em.

The tide has turned, and from the looks of the recruiting, it looks like as long as Gott and company are in charge we’ll have a very competitive team.

Me, I am honestly hopeful for the first time since Les’s first year that a new championship banner might get hung in the rafters. It’ll take some luck, sure, but this may be our best shot since V patrolled our sidelines.
