Alert readers will remember our coverage last year of the ridiculous 2011 spring game crowd “estimates” UNC-CH shamelessly promoted.

Nobody is surprised that they are at it again.  According to the N&O’s coverage, UNC-CH announced a crowd of 17,000 for this past Saturday’s spring game.

    17,000 is the number of people who indicated in an online poll that they might show up – if they didn’t have anything else to do. I think they also had some kindly of a reunion. Maybe those reunioners are at the concession stands gettin’ themselves a big orange drank when those pictures were taken.

    You know these nunbers are always wrong because they’re always even numbers. I mean, at least make it look like it’s a legitimate number by drawing random digits out of a hat. Or, they could do like everyone else does by either counting the people (gee there’s a novel approach) or estimating like baxter did above.

    That’s nowhere near 10k. I’d put it in the 3-5k range. Seriously.

    Good Wolfbuff….. I was surprised myself that they could draw that many jus’ to see two bunches of men fight over a funny lookin’ punkin’. Andy is one of the few good things to come out of Chapel Hill.

    Not only cannot Tarholes not count…they can’t spell either. A friend of mine attended the Spring game and took this photo in their Hall of Fame area of the stadium.

    BassPacker – that pic is too funny. “Players in the Pro’s” only question is what is the word left off, since that is a possessive. My nominations for the missing words are
    1. Jock straps
    or
    2. Business
    or perhaps they were trying to write “Players into prose”

    I can’t blame them. Over-inflating estimates is smarter than trying to he 100% accurate like we do. We’ll have twice the people and estimate 20k

    ^over-inflating… heh. And we’re back to the Inflatable Crowd… 🙂 It fits, since every UNX fan I know has an over-inflated sense of self-worth. Like JSRy2k said, the average UNX fan probably wouldn’t even know the difference.

    You know this just doesn’t really matter but it just goes to illustrate that UNC-CHeats is more concerned over image than honesty. That entire university is just one big lie. Liars and Cheats. Been doing it for years but got away with it before the internet. No wonder this state is in such a mess what with so many of their graduates in the legislature.

    I have got it. They are using base 8 (octal) number system instead of the base 10 number system

    therefore 17,000 in base 8 is 7680 in base 10. Its a math thing. They are not lying just doing different math.
