Sunday in Raleigh

It is a BEAUTIFUL Sunday in Raleigh and we are still catching our breath from the great run the Wolfpack basketball program have given us.

Our ‘unwind’ was made a little easier yesterday when NC State downed #5 UNC-CH on the baseball field. (State currently leads Sunday’s game 3-1 in the second inning).

While you are gearing up for the Kansas-Carolina basketball game, I thought I would share the following comment from another entry on SFN as I shared the exact same observations and thought them worthy of note.

There are lots of Wolfpack flags and t-shirts out and about today, 2 days after the battle with Kansas. I think it’s a fair belief, for the first time since the 80′s, that this skirmish is just the beginning. What’s clearly true is that the formerly patronizing pats from the blue neighbors are now tinged with genuine concern. Wow, that’s a fine feeling.

Wherever we go from here, I hope to remember the feeling of this unexpected run. It’s been pure and rare and something that this team and staff made it’s own this last few weeks. Yea & thanks to those guys and to Debbie Yow, who may just be as lucky as she is good.

From here, goodness, lots of variables… next year could be a monster or merely dangerous but it surely seems there’ll be more folk looking up than looking down at the Pack. Please Gott, stay hungry.

KU’s defense is awfully porous for my liking.

IF I am a UNC fan, I would have to feel pretty happy with McAdoo back next year. It’s one of those cases where an injury to Henson gave a guy a shot to shine and dude has been on fire.

I think you have to full court pressure Watts and see how he handles it.

I hope Kansas beats the hell out of UNX. There is no way on this planet I would ever pull for Carowhina…not even if it would statistically help the Pack in some way. Call me illogical, but my abject hatred for the smurfs roots deeply in my soul.

Ok, CBS. Thanks, but I do not need a close up of Henson’s foot. Dude’s in serious need of a nail clipper.

    Robinson is ridiculous.

  7. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 5:07 PM #

    Yeah, he is.

I didn’t expect a track meet like this. At least entertaining.

Though I want the Holes to win in theory, and dislike Kansas…watching the actual game I find myself cheering against UNC. Old habits die hard, must be in my blood.

The more I see of Kansas vs UNC the more I realize that the National Championship game is on Saturday at 6:30 not on Monday.

Taylor waking up = UNC in big trouble.

BTW – I have to give a lot of credit to our guards in their play vs Taylor. The guy is really talented and thought we did an excellent job against him.

    @BJD
I must have missed something. Why do you want the holes to win in theory?

  12. BJD95 03/25/2012 at 5:20 PM #

So that our loss is a blessing in disguise. The thought that we could have lost to them four times makes me want to retch.

I guess the best result is a close KS win, only due to the Jayhawks playing out of their minds.

I wish Shaquille O’Neal would go away already. I’m not feeling sorry for your rich, stupid ass. You got called names? Boo fucking hoo.

Goodness UNC is on fire. Stilman White is playing surprisingly well. I do not like the way this one is going.

  14. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 5:23 PM #

Ah, now I see. I like it, but still can’t bring myself to pull for ’em. Just knowing that many (most?) of their fans were pulling for KU because they didn’t want to face us is enough for me.

Roy still looks so angry. What’s up his rectal cavity?

  16. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 5:27 PM #

What’s not up his rectal cavity? Craig Sager looking like he’s been shopping at Baylor’s Wearhouse for Men. Nice suit, jackass.

  17. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 5:33 PM #

Barkley is right. Stilman White is playing with “comfortness”.

  18. BJD95 03/25/2012 at 5:34 PM #

Somebody forgot to tell Baylor and Sager – don’t eat the brown acid!!

I can’t help but love Frank Martin. Great guy, but he’s so understated that he nearly always looks in danger of falling asleep. Yet he still manages to emanate a sense of insanity.

    Great guy.

  20. Wulfpack 03/25/2012 at 5:44 PM #

Really like Frank, too. Kind of hope he gets out of K State and goes somewhere where he can really win.

  21. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 5:52 PM #

I think that was a bad call. I think KU player’s foot was already down out of bounds, making he himself out of bounds, making the ball out of bounds off Barnes.

Unless the rule has been changed.

  22. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 6:06 PM #

Maybe my sound is delayed somehow, but it sure seems like there have been a lot of late whistles this weekend. Especially on missed shots.

  23. Wulfpack 03/25/2012 at 6:08 PM #

Really not impressed with KU today. Letting the Heels hang around.

  24. Wufpacker 03/25/2012 at 6:14 PM #

I’ve given Stilman White a lotta crap, but that was a hell of an assist there.

  25. BJD95 03/25/2012 at 6:23 PM #

Mission accomplished by this game – I no longer feel we would definitely or almost surely have won today. Much better Hole effort than expected.
