ACC’s so called ‘statement’ another slap in the face to NC State (10:10pm)

Why did they f***ing bother? In this statement the conference weasels its way into even more disdain from fans focusing on Karl Hess’ authority to remove Chris Corchiani and Tom Gugliotta, while completely ignoring his controversial judgement to do so.

Feb. 18, 2012

Statement from ACC Supervisor of Officials John Clougherty on the ejection that took place at today’s Florida State at NC State men’s basketball game:

“Under Rule 10, when circumstances warrant, an official has the authority to request home game management to eject fans when the behavior, in the officials’ judgement, is extreme or excessive. It’s unfortunate in this instance that ACC protocol of communicating directly with the home game management was not followed, and instead, a building security officer was solicited. We will re-communicate this policy with all officials to ensure proper protocol is followed.”

—————————————-

Sadly, one of the best explanations of the statement came from the twitter account of a UNC fan:

So, instead of “Hess was wrong to throw them out,” the ACC’s position is “Hess threw them out wrong”?

—————————————-

Another Tar heel homer also agreed when WRAL’s @ErinESummers used the following description of the statement:

ACC stands behind Hess and does not question/comment on his judgment to eject Corch, Gugs but instead comments on how it was done improperly

She also seems to agree with all of WolfpackNation’s characteristic of this farse –

that’s the official release and it is absolutely lame

—————————————-

So…after the ACC has had a chance to comment on the issue, the primary question still remains — EXACTLY WHY did Karl Hess have Corchiani and Gugliotta removed today? Corch & Googs have taken the stance to go on the record to publicly state that no curse words were used or threatening statements. This account of the situation seems to have been corroborated by multiple eye-witness accounts of people on press row and around the incident.

So, WHY is the ACC and Karl Hess not expected to be held accountable to explain the specifics of the situation that Hess CHOSE to initiate?

—————————————-

I will ask the same question that was being asked on the blog on Thursday night — why do NC State fans, leaders and administrators CONTINUE to participate in an affiliation that is so dis-respectful and slanted against us? Why do we keep fooling ourselves into believing that we are a part of anything less rigged than professional wrestling at this point?

thought you guys should know you can contact this guy at [email protected]

    Mr. Clougherty,

I would like to formally express my utter disgust at the statement you have issued concerning the two NCSU basketball legends, Tom Gugliotta and Chris Corchiani, that were unfairly ejected from last night’s NCSU vs. FSU basketball game. It has long been known that our conference mistreats us, which is why I for one am heavily in favor of at least seeking dual-membership by contacting the SEC. Not having our National Championship win published on the front page of the N&O the day after was bad enough. Having to raise our own funds for the university we have come to love after the UNC-CHEAT system schools misappropriated all of the money on railroad bonds was bad. Having our rivals “declared” for us by a former tarhole athletic director was pretty disgraceful (your good buddy swafford and wake forest). Being forced to play a team that is horribly disrespectful, that is in a worse conference, that we wish to have nothing to do with, for T.V. money every two years and also declaring them our rivals is pretty bad (ecu football). Hearing about the “carolina way” from bigots like Adam and Joe on 99.9 ESPN Radio even through the UNC cheating fiasco which included involvement with cocaine, plagiarism, coach/agents, incompetency from school administrators, thousands in unpaid parking tickets, and the “more prestigious test scores” they received from all of this plus even more illicit activity got pretty tiresome. Heck, having the ACC allow the tarholes to “investigate themselves” after all of this was revealed was actually priceless, considering that when a few basketball players tried to sell their shoes for spending money under Valvano an entire private investigative firm was called in the evaluate the situation. Having the ACC allow UNC to hire Hansbrough’s mom and pay her ungodly sums of money for doing almost nothing simply because they couldn’t get away with giving money straight to Hansbrough was pretty insane.
As a fan who likes to keep up with stats, seeing carowhina consistently rank lowest in fouls called on them and highest in fouls called on their opponents is really irritating. Not only that, but seeing an almost PERFECT record when it comes to the absence of athletic violations throughout all of their sports teams is exceptionally irritating. All the while our athletic staff has the integrity to often report violations itself. For heavens sake, Calvin Leslie sat out three games for borrowing his friends car because his own broke down. Who reported it? Mark Gottfried. Tom O’Brien is known for putting academics first and will sit his own players out voluntarily if their grades slip. Furthermore, having the ACC declare on its sports networks that the UNC-Duke rivalry is the greatest in college sports even though they only play each other competitively in basketball is ridiculous. Well I’ve got news for you, Mr. Coordinator. A truly great rivalry is between two schools, two fan-bases, two entire entities. NOT two sports teams. If there was ever a friendly rivalry it would be between NCSU and Duke through the common hatred we have for your beloved “better than thou art” targoats. If you want to pick Duke as the tarhole’s main rival, go for it, but do it in a conference of your own consisting of just those two schools. NOT one that we, North Carolina State University, founded. While NCSU and Duke graduates are going out into the real world as farmers, engineers, mathematicians, statisticians, businessmen, designers, etc, UNC-CHEAT graduates are working for the public sector, sitting in the gutter at OWS protests, or turning into suckers like you that add a bunch of yankee teams to our conference, and then forcing us to only play our main rival only once a year. I bet you would like to do the same to our football program, if you could only get your friends over there in Chapel Hell to beat us at least once in five years.
Trust me I could go on… but you have probably skipped down to this line or the one below it so that you don’t have to read all of these “accusations” against your beloved targoats. Hellfire, I probably won’t even get a response to this. My main point being that if I wasn’t fed up before with your bullcrap and the mess that the rest of the ACC shows toward NCSU, I sure as the devil am now.
After a referee throws out two of our LEGENDARY players, who were rooting their hardest for their team, whose jerseys were hanging in the rafters, who showed NC STATE that when the ACC shows disrespect to our faces we can still win big, and doing so in OUR OWN HOUSE, WITHOUT OFFERING AN EXPLANATION, for no valid reason (statements from the cops and surrounding fans concur), and in a fashion that would have anybody in Chapped Hole throwing out the race card, you release a statement saying not that he was wrong in doing so, but that he “threw them out wrong.” And that you will “be sure to do it right next time.” You, sir, have no class. You, sir, are a reprehensible excuse for a coordinator of anything except for determining which baby-blue article of clothing you should wear to “work” each day of the week. And in that, Sir, you disgust me. Your conference decisions disgust me, your statement disgusts me, and that horridly conceptualized tattoo of what appears to be a goat attempting to consume a dark-blue demon carcass on your left butt-cheek you thought no one would find out about when you showed your wife more than disgusts me. As a PROUD STATE FAN, I am FED UP with you and your carowhina mafia. Moreover, I DEMAND an apology for your back-handed “statement” and also an apology from Mr. Hess. If not, I demand his and your permanent occupational removal (after which hopefully upgrade to the package deal and have swafford follow you). And when I say “I,” I mean every competent student/fan/employee/graduate/legitimate affiliate of North Carolina State University. Believe me, there are a lot more of us than you think. If you and your cronies don’t shape up REAL soon, the SEC is only a phone call away.

    SINCERELY,

    “North Carolina State”

Either join the SEC or throw UNX out with Swofford!!!! NOW!!!!

  3. MrPlywood 02/19/2012 at 6:02 PM #

No offense pt5, but that will surely get a TLDR reaction from Cloughtery. Send another, but stick the the Hess incident, make it short and sweet.

  4. Wulfpack 02/19/2012 at 8:48 PM #

That was my same thought, MrPlywood. Can’t do that. Got to be a bit more professional and get right to it.

This only dispalys that Hess’s head was NOT in the game. All he has to do is “HIS J-O-B!” Suspend this mofo indefinately. Fire Swofford, gut the Acc’s ref crew.
