How is State not last in the ACC power rankings?

New ‘power rankings’ are out from the ACC Sports Journal and somehow Virginia and Boston College are both ranked below the Wolfpack. Does that mean that State might actually have a chance when we travel to both Charlottesville and Chestnut Hill later this season? With a win this weekend over Central Michigan it looks like the Wolfpack could potentially win five whole games this year! Oh goody!! (Thank goodness we scheduled to FCS teams this year).

10. N.C. State (2-3, 0-2)
Maybe a little bulletin board material will put some life into the Wolfpack. After scoring three touchdowns in Georgia Tech’s 45-35 win in Raleigh, Yellow Jacket Orwin Smith said, “We haven’t played real competition to really test our skills.” Ouch.

Previous Ranking: No. 10
Upcoming Game: Saturday vs Central Michigan (2-3)

@kt… I was in a DC sportsbar; had I had tickets I would have been there for the team taking the field & the last painful minutes. As I’m sure you were.

Agree with wulf on all counts. I haven’t seen UVA but have seen BC – just an awful team. Also see 5-7 – 2 of 3 vs. BC, UVA, CMU – and beating the Holes.

FSU, Clemson, and MD will beat us like we owe em money.

You’re all high on your soapbox and you weren’t even at the game? Unbelievable.

When you’ve been an LTR holder for nine years shelling out $1500+ annually (like me and thousands of others on here), then you can call us all bad fans for leaving early.

Agree 100 percent with LRM, I paid good money for my tickets and if I get tired of seeing the team I care for so dearly get their brains beat in late in the game, that’s my choice. Drives me crazy when someone in the stands calls me a fairweather fan as I’m walking out of a 20 point beatdown.

TOB is not disinterested. Looks to be in pain along with the rest of us. Only difference is that he has the power to do something about it. We are going to find out what he can do.

LRM, I am calling you a bad fan. I don’t have lifetime rights because I live in the district but I’ve given thousands of dollars in my 10+ years in the Wolfpack Club. I would call you a bad fan even if I was a HS recruit who gives nothing.

But that’s just my opinion. Get out of your wallet for a second & think how that looks to a player on the field, or to a recruit in the stands.

I wouldn’t worry about me calling you a bad fan – that’s just my opinion. But you might worry about how you’re wasting your money if you can’t even stick around to support your own team.

    Hey, at least you’re honest.

Next time you’re being a good fan and supporting the team from a D.C. sports bar, keep in mind that without all the 60,000 bad fans just like me that C-F would always be as empty as it was in the fourth quarter Saturday.

Our team sucks this year, no doubt about it. Be it injuries, lack of depth, lack of coaching, lack of talent…whatever. But if you have season tickets to the football game either go to support our team or donate your tickets to some kids who might not be able to go to a college football game on their own dime. If you don’t go when we suck, then don’t go when we’re good (if we ever are again). I mean, cheap fans come out of the woodwork when a team is doing well. Real fans and supporters show up day in and day out even when it is HARD to do so.

DC wolf, well, I’m surprised at you being critical and you at a sports bar. Get your butt to the game and then be critical. Those of us who have season tickets year after year, are tired of the constant excuses! We deserve better and have paid to have better. Let’s make a change soon and get this ship righted. We can wait and wait and this pathetic excuse for a football coach doesn’t get any better!!! Make the change now!!!

DC pup, put your money up or shut up, man. Some of us have been going to games religously for 30 years. If I want to leave early I will.

The problem is as old as bad football. No one really wants to watch it. TOB has an obligation to make changes and put a product out there that is respectable. He hasn’t made any changes, he isn’t that great at recruiting talent, and his excuses are wearing thin.

I hope we can find a way to win a few more games, but the fact is we have been overwhelmed vs Cinci and GT. We will likely be overwhelmed vs FSU, Clemson, MD, and UNX.

Our plain vanilla offense just ain’t gonna outscore any decent team with our modest defense allowing 30+ points.

Ahhh. I now see we are at the point where the fan base is so divided that we are calling each other bad fans. It is only a matter of time I am afraid.

I figure we will go 5-7. We will win this weekend. I think we will beat BC (winning coach agrees to hire the losing coach if they still have jobs nedt year). UVA and MD are toss ups. A change will most likely be made. Rinse, repeat.

Yes, this is indeed one of the identified stages of the death spiral. Fowler would be offering a contract extension right about now.

To sum it up, Duke is ranked ahead of us – that is all you need to know.
