I don’t always watch basketball…

I wish I knew who to credit for this… but it spread NC State circles like wildfire today. Whoever did it, well done!

    Stay thirsty, my friends…

I think it is funny. This embarasses the players? You mean more than they have been embarassing themselves on the court?
I agree it is not as much their fault as it is the coaches. But they are grown men with a free ride.
Hell we are all embarassed. Players, fans, supporters, students. If you can’t laugh at yourself…

Dear Master, maybe you should switch to decafe. To quote Larry The Cable Guy, “I don’t care who you are, that’s funny.”

When we put a product on the floor that can beat unx and duke, then it will stop being funny.

if that upsets ya’ and you see no humor to it at all, it’s a good thing you weren’t around for the “amphibious” and “pizza thievery” days.

I think it’s great. If you are an NC State fan and have been frustrated this year and in past years, you should find this funny.

PackerInRussia, if the picture made you think; made you laugh; made you cry, maybe you should have it put on a t-shirt??

That way you can have a Pretty Full Day, and enjoy life every time you wear it.

“Some folks have apparently lost their sense of humor.”

At this point yes. I feel pregnant I’m experiencing a roller coaster of emotion. One second I laugh, the other I cry.

I feel bad for the players and coaches. Almost as if watching a terminally ill family member. Its sad. I will be supportive at this point and hope for an NIT run.

I’m sorry but I thought it was funny. It actually brought a little humor to the current situation, which was a nice change.

I agree that I don’t want to put the players down but it is what it is. The coaching continues to be horrible and the execution of the players has been bad. I do believe they are playing hard and just as frustrated as the fans. However, that doesn’t not need to mask the fact that the team is unprepared to win virtually every night. Without an effective defense and basically NO offensive plays, you can’t rely totally on talent in the college game. We have a lot of talented guys but it takes more than HS talent these days.

Anyway, I still think the picture was funny and everyone who has been subjected to the past 20+ years of NCSU basketball deserves a laugh or two.

I hope the coaching change comes very soon and the players can regain some lost confidence. It will also help with chemistry at this point. The players are lost. They don’t know what to do now to win and they don’t know what the future holds with potential coaching changes. Just a bad situation all the way around really.

I will still watch and support no matter what. However, changes better happen after the season. Period.

I suppose if you had a picture of a car crash, you could put NCSU on it. Then, maybe send it to your sister or other relative that just lost a spouse or child or parent in a car crash.

This type of “humor” and sarcasim does NOT have a place here.

Sidney Lowe is a respected alumnus and player and has been dedicated to bringing back out basketball tradition.

I do NOT see how such postings will improve the situation….only make it worse.

At the end of the season, Debbie Yow and Randy Woodson will have to make the call.

I find the losses very painful. I have four LTR tickets in the Champions Club and plan on attending the games and also going to the ACC Tournament.

I am NOT writing Bobby Purcell or any of the NCSU folks demanding a lynching. They will review the situation and determine the best course of action.

I urge every TRUE Wolfpack Fan to support the team and save the fingerpointings and “I TOLD YOU SO’s” until AFTER the season.

I would add that it seems that we have a team that has a very small critical mass…..in that if ONE player is out, it impacts the chemistry and game.

The team, when we watched them in Charleston, looked good….right up to Tracy’s injury. We suffered through that.

Then they started to look fairly decent…had a few moments of glory and otherwise.

Then CJ got sick and has yet to be at full strength.

Sidney made a KEY decision, which was painful, to bench a SENIOR. He started Harrow. Now Harrow is under the weather.

This IS a YOUNG team….remember how Roy’s boys looked last year? Remember how they looked early in the season. Ask Boston College how they play now. Last night was a blowout. That is the same team that just gelled and whipped our behinds.

SO, please save the post mortums until AFTER the patient is dead.

    GO PACK!

  12. eas 02/02/2011 at 4:08 PM #

I would agree that DY and Woody will make the right decision for our future. I think we do have a young team that needs some direction and is expected to make mistakes. They play hard and do want to win. My point from my previous post is that Lowe & Co. (no matter how much we all want him to be successful) have not figured out how to make the appropriate adjustments in games. Just like HWSNBN, they refuse to make complete changes to offensive & defensive sets. For example, if the NBA offense doesn’t work with the current set up then don’t use it. Run some organized half court plays and improve on running the ball everytime.

I really don’t think a car crash fatality comparison is in the same league as a “beer commercial” but I understand your point of being positive to the players.

Regardless of what we all think of the humor (or not) of the picture, it shows that things have gone south quickly. We should always support the players and their efforts. However, we should all fully expect a significant change in the program at the end of the season.

Go Pack & lets look forward to some change at the VT game tonight.

This is really funny, but i don’t think we should post this kind of useless humor. Funny? Yes, helpful or useful for serving any other purpose, No. If you are currently unhappy about NC State hoops, as I am, don’t post this mess and further degrade the current condition of the program and potentially upset players or future recruits or anyone who might be offended, rather keep it to yourself or talk to other people who share your viewpoint. It does not serve any useful purpose to put this stuff on the web.

Should people really be upset by this? No. However, as we all know everyone spends endless hours on the internet and many people can’t take a good joke. Just my take. Stay Classy.

  14. 61Packer 02/02/2011 at 5:14 PM #

You can call the humor useless, but when it comes to State basketball, it’s all we’ve got unless we dwell on pain. I complain as much as the next person, maybe more than most, but occasionally I do try to inject a little humor.

And don’t forget, today is Groundhog Day, all day long.

    Repeat after me………..

    ADVENTUROO get over yourself!
You are comparing it to losing a relative in a car crash? Good god man. It is a freakin basketball game and we suck at it. It sure as hell ain’t life or death (well maybe it is to you since you are currently sitting on a 4 LTR “investment”). If a joke using “the most interesting man in the world” can make this team worse they are some fragile young men. Good thing they aren’t in the military getting shot at. Of course we are currently tied for 9th. Maybe it could be worse, but not much.
This kind of sarcasm and humor has every place here. This may not be EDSBS, but it is a good sports website with a fair dose of humor when it’s called for. And man with this program it is called for now.
We are real Wolfpack fans. We are estatic when we win, pissed when we lose, and when we are pissed we see something like this and we laugh and say, “damn that’s funny.”
“His business card simply says ‘I’ll call you.'”
    You need a Dos Equis.

It should be ‘I don’t always watch N.C. State, but when I do, IT’S NOT BASKETBALL.’

NC State athletics are like the Republican party. They never fail to disappoint. I saw State play a few weeks ago. It’s the same old “throw the ball around the perimeter until someone fires up a three” crap I’ve seen for a generation! No movement, hustle, just plain pitiful!

Good thing is being in Texas, AWD doesn’t get to see too many State games.
