LKNpackfan 01/21/2011 at 11:04 AM # And people complain that the wolfdog is hokey… lsutton5144 01/25/2011 at 8:18 AM # Maybe the Deacon is also a ordained minister, which is certainly within the realm of possibilities. IC needs to worry about what might have been going on between their football coach and the tutor. We’ll take care of our business. packpowerfan 01/25/2011 at 10:55 AM # It should be stated that Roman Catholic (not Orthodox) deacons are ordained to perform sacraments (including presiding over the marriage ceremony). Of course, THE Deacon is Baptist, and Baptist deacons have power on an autonomous basis. Each Baptist church decides for itself the power that a deacon may have. So yes, the WF Deacon COULD be ordained to perform licensed marriage, but he isn’t required/denied this power. Sort of a square/rectangle relationship. But really? They are mascots. Calm down ‘Holes. On a side note, I mentioned that I thought this was cool in another thread (on graduation years I believe). My dad was a freshman in 1981 during the first ceremony between Mr. and Mrs. Wuf, and I’m got to see their second as a graduating senior. Just thought it was kinda neat and sentimental.
