Boston College Open Game Thread

My apologies, I promised to put up the open thread, then forgot. I had to be up at 7 to shuttle kids around, so I’m uber-scatterbrained. In any event, I was going to say that a loss would effectively end NC State’s season. Fortunately, the beatdown BC has so richly deserved since Tom O’Brien left is finally happening. Woohoo!

This team must stop allowing teams to hang around.

Game is on the ACC network, which usually means it’s on ESPN3, too. Doesn’t sound like much to watch, 27-10 lead against a team that isn’t built to play from behind.

Anyone watching that can share some insights? I’ve been glasses shopping all afternoon.

If BC’s quarterbacks were here at NC State circa 2006, they’d be on the depth chart behind the walk-ons; one would have been moved to TE and he’d still be behind the TE walk-ons on the depth chart.

BC decided to play a base 4-3 defense against 3 and 4 wideouts pretty much the whole game. NC State ran like 15 WR quick screens and I think pretty much every one worked.

Leffler is a much better punter than Ruiz; and James Washington looks better on returns than Graham.

We scored three offensive touchdowns, a defensive touchdown, and a special teams touchdown on the blocked punt. all around dominant effort.

Great win, but it would have been nice to see our offensive gurus solve the BC run defense.
Let’s take care of business in Greenville so bowl eligibility is a non-issue.

    GO PACK!

I agree poppa, get bowl eligible next week, then work every week towards a better bowl.

Running game must be established by the offensive line getting better assignment grades. Time for the young men to man up in the trenches. I am glad to see the kicking game improving, the KO coverage hopefully improves some more.
Kudos to Wolfpack HC and his staff for improving this team some more.
The offensive line needs a lot more work for sure.
Great game for Wolfpack against a weakened BC team with no ACC caliber QB.
