NCAAT Thursday Thread

I can’t find a good link, but it looks like WRAL will carry all of the NCAAT games on its digital channels again. Also, don’t forget to enter your bracket for the SFN Yahoo Group. Games that interest me today:

– Davidson vs. Maryland (12:20)
– Old Dominion vs. Butler (2:40)
– Oral Roberts vs. Washington State (2:40)
– Michigan State vs. Marquette (7:20)
– Gonzaga vs. Indiana (9:45)

I hate that the PAC-10 or Big Ten is guaranteed a win tomorrow (Purdue #9 vs Arizona #8).

    Marqutee? 🙂

Aww, there’s nothing wrong with the Big 10. I routinely pass up root canal to watch Big 10 basketball.

I’m just glad I have digital cable and can avoid the Saturday Duke/Pitt matchup. Man, will that ever be brutal to watch.

Most of you guys probably know this, but all games are viewable online at
    NCAASports.com’s March Madness on Demand

Thanks HonL! I am in NY and there’s no telling what crap they will have on up here.

What is this NCAA tourney you speak of? Is that something below the NIT?

  8. branjawn 03/15/2007 at 11:21 AM #

If you go to ESPNU.com there is a link in the header (it’s on the right side) to request directly to your cable provider that they carry ESPNU. I just did it, it’s easy! Just thought I’d share.

Just for the record, I’ve got Texas Tech beating BC today. (well, in 2 of my 5 brackets I do)

  10. Texpack 03/15/2007 at 11:39 AM #

The March Madness on Demand waiting line is much longer than last year.

  11. Texpack 03/15/2007 at 11:42 AM #

Is Lefty at the Davidson – UMd game today?

  12. branjawn 03/15/2007 at 11:53 AM #

Stupid MM on Demand… I waited, and waited, finally got in. Oh, you gotta use IE to view it (not Firefox apearantly)! They could have told me that earlier! So I had to open IE and get back in line. Grrrrrrrrrr

Looks like Stanford was a good choice for the field. Wonder why the Pac-10 didn’t get more teams in the tournament?

  14. Dr. BadgerPack 03/15/2007 at 12:34 PM #

I’m curious as to whether Stanford is that abyssmal or Lousville is playing at that high a level right now. If it is the latter, they might be around for several more games.

  15. redfred2 03/15/2007 at 12:54 PM #

I wonder if Curry would be interested in a tranfer?

  16. CarnifeX 03/15/2007 at 1:37 PM #

Thanks for the heads up branjawn!

meltdown on the Stanford forums…. cant blame them. Its not the end of the world to lose in the first round. Just dont get embarrassed.

  18. Dr. BadgerPack 03/15/2007 at 1:51 PM #

One would think the Stanford fanbase would have been ejumicated enough to know they had the beat down coming.

  19. Rochester 03/15/2007 at 1:59 PM #

Redfred, The time to get Curry was last year. Another in-stater who “got away.” And you’d have to guess he would have stuck it out through the coaching search.

What’s there to be upset about? They should be happy their 18 win team got in the Big Dance, while other equally borderline teams were left out.

The PAC-10 might have been vastly overrated this year and this may be the start of it being exposed, since ORU is currently leading WSU.

  21. BJD95 03/15/2007 at 2:15 PM #

Based on where the other ACC teams were slotted, I’m reasonably certain that we would have taken Stanford’s slot had we beaten UNC.

doesn anyone else have ODU winning? i also have Wash St only winning one, so if they lose today, no skin of my bracket… i mean back

  23. Dan 03/15/2007 at 2:40 PM #

I have ODU and ORU winning. Pressing my luck on day one.

  24. highonlowe 03/15/2007 at 2:55 PM #

The louisville/stanford game was in lexington, so its basically a home-court advantage. For that reason, I picked them over Tx A&M next round on one of my ‘free’ brackets, but I couldn’t make myself call it on the money bracks.

Also, the March Madness on Demand waiting room line went pretty quick. They were admitting about 650 people every 20 seconds so my total wait was about 7 minutes early today.

  25. Dan 03/15/2007 at 3:59 PM #

The 2nd half of the 2nd set is going to kill me.

ORU and ODU kill my upset picks in the 2nd half, and I have a final four pick dying on the vine to the Quakers.

    Wake UP! Acie!
