In the spirit of looking back to prior SFN football/Amato posts, I remembered this “State of Wolfpack Football” entry from last February. Jeff and I spent a considerable amount of time sifting through information and framing the wording to be informative (but not unfair or unsubstantiated), and re-reading it in the wake of Amato’s dismissal, I think we foreshadowed the coming storm pretty well.
In the intervening months, every bit of information I learned was uniformly more negative than the publication-date state of mind. As one example, it turns out that Amato was meddling/micromanaging even during Chow’s tenure, not just afterward. In that light, it’s quite surprising that the house of cards stood for as long as it did – not that it ultimately collapsed.
